Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end analysis of fund-level expenses and receivables for a rapidly scaling fintech platform that now supports more than $175 billion in global alternative-investment transactions. You will become the single source of truth for every dollar that flows out of—and back into—our fund structures, ensuring investors, auditors, and senior leadership have complete confidence in the numbers.
- • Build and maintain dynamic expense-tracking models that reconcile data from multiple general ledgers, transfer-agent systems, and third-party administrators. Your models will feed directly into board-level dashboards and regulatory filings, so precision and audit-grade documentation are non-negotiable.
- • Partner daily with Fund Accounting, Treasury, Legal, and Product teams to validate fee calculations, catch billing anomalies, and surface cost-saving opportunities before they hit investor statements. You will translate complex fee waterfalls into plain-English narratives that help non-finance stakeholders understand the “why” behind every charge.
- • Drive continuous process improvement by identifying manual bottlenecks and replacing them with automated workflows in NetSuite, Alteryx, or SQL-based solutions. Recent wins by the team include cutting month-end close time by 30 % and eliminating a two-day manual invoice-matching process.
- • Support the annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting cycles for fund expenses, working closely with FP&A to stress-test scenarios such as AUM growth, new share-class launches, or regulatory fee caps. Your scenario analyses will directly influence pricing strategy and investor communications.
- • Lead or contribute to ad-hoc projects—recent examples include implementing a new expense-allocation engine for multi-currency funds and building an investor-facing fee-transparency portal. You will manage project timelines, coordinate cross-functional resources, and present findings to senior executives.
- • Prepare audit-ready support files and walkthrough memos for Big-4 auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits. Your documentation will be cited as the gold standard for control design and operating effectiveness.
- • Monitor receivables aging and partner with Investor Services to accelerate cash collections, reducing days-sales-outstanding and improving working-capital forecasts.
- • Stay ahead of evolving regulatory guidance (SEC, CFTC, IRS) on fund expense disclosure and expense caps, ensuring iCapital remains compliant and best-in-class.
- • Champion a culture of data integrity and intellectual curiosity—mentor junior analysts, host lunch-and-learns on advanced Excel techniques, and contribute to the team’s internal knowledge base.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2–5 years of experience in fund accounting, corporate finance, or public accounting with exposure to alternative investment vehicles (hedge funds, private equity, or fund-of-funds)
- • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Power Query, array formulas) and hands-on experience with at least one ERP or general ledger system (NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle preferred)
- • Demonstrated ability to translate complex fee waterfalls and legal documents into clear, auditable calculations
- • Nice-to-have: CPA or progress toward CPA, SQL or Alteryx proficiency, familiarity with ASC 946 or IFRS 10 investment-company guidance
🏖️ Benefits
- • 100 % remote-first culture with quarterly in-person team summits in New York, London, or Lisbon
- • Annual professional-development stipend of $3,500 plus paid study hours for CPA, CFA, or CAIA
- • Equity participation in a pre-IPO fintech recently valued at $6 billion
- • 20 days PTO plus year-end shutdown between Christmas and New Year’s, and a monthly wellness stipend for gym, therapy, or mindfulness apps
