Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As the first Corporate FP&A Lead at Clipboard Health Inc., you will establish the financial planning and analysis function from the ground up, directly enabling the company’s mission to lift professionals up the socioeconomic ladder by ensuring accurate, actionable financial insights that drive strategic decisions in a profitable, high-growth Series C marketplace.
- • You will own the end-to-end corporate financial model, forecast cycles, and reporting processes, serving as the critical link between Accounting, Strategic Finance, and senior leadership to ensure financial integrity, transparency, and scalability as the company expands into new verticals and scales globally.
- • Day to day, you will own and maintain the consolidated corporate financial model as the single source of truth for revenue, headcount, and expense lines, ensuring all assumptions are GAAP-compliant and reconciled with ERP outputs.
- • You will build and maintain long-range plans (LRPs) and annual operating plans (AOPs) using both top-down strategic frameworks and granular bottom-up drivers, aligning financial planning with company-wide growth objectives.
- • You will deliver monthly variance analysis with clear root-cause explanations, going beyond surface-level changes to explain what shifted, why it happened, and what it means for business performance and future planning.
- • You will prepare precise, board- and investor-ready financial presentations, owning the accuracy of all external financial health metrics and ensuring they reflect the true state of the business.
- • You will work closely with Accounting, Strategic Finance, and Operations Leaders to identify and resolve discrepancies between financial systems, ensuring clean, reliable data flows across the organization.
- • You will build scalable operational frameworks and process documentation that map every step of financial workflows — data transfers, system touchpoints, dependencies, handoffs, and control points — with exceptional granularity to eliminate ambiguity and prevent errors.
- • You will independently use SQL to extract, interrogate, and validate financial and operational datasets from source systems like Snowflake, Metabase, or Hex, reducing dependency on data teams and accelerating insight generation.
- • You will partner with Finance and Accounting on deep-dive investigations and root-cause analyses for complex or high-impact workflows, driving redesign efforts that improve efficiency and control.
- • You will document all finance-related workflows end-to-end, creating a living knowledge base that enables onboarding, audit readiness, and continuous improvement.
- • You will establish and refine quarterly forecasting cycles, ensuring they run on time with fewer surprises and greater cross-functional alignment.
- • You will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership by translating complex financial systems into clear, compelling narratives that inform strategic decisions around resource allocation, hiring, pricing, and expansion.
- • You will build the financial operating infrastructure that scales with the company, creating a foundation for future FP&A team growth and long-term financial control excellence.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of FP&A, financial consolidations, strategic finance, or management consulting experience
- • Deep understanding of GAAP accounting principles and how they translate into model assumptions, variance analysis, and financial reporting
- • Hands-on experience with ERP and financial planning systems (e.g. NetSuite, Workday, Adaptive, Anaplan, Pigment)
- • Ability to use or learn data-pulling tools such as Metabase, Hex, Snowflake
- • Proven ability to run both tops-down LRP/AOP processes and granular bottoms-up monthly forecasting cycles
- • Exceptional attention to detail: you catch errors others miss, and you build processes designed to prevent them from recurring
- • Strong written communication skills. You can distill complex financial information into crisp, executive-ready narratives
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote work flexibility across Canada, UK, and EU — work from anywhere with no relocation required
- • Opportunity to be the first FP&A hire at a profitable, Series C marketplace with global impact and backing from Y Combinator’s Top Companies list
- • Clear path to build and lead a future FP&A team as the function scales with the company’s growth into new verticals (Dental, Home Health, etc.) and full-time product offerings
- • Direct access to senior leadership, including reporting to the Chief of Staff of Revenue & Finance, with influence on board- and investor-facing financial storytelling
- • Exposure to high-stakes financial processes in a fast-scaling, two-sided platform business that has been profitable since 2022 and fills millions of shifts annually
- • Professional growth through ownership of end-to-end financial workflows, SQL-driven data analysis, and process design in a high-autonomy, high-impact role
- • Competitive compensation package aligned with market rates for senior FP&A leaders in remote-first, high-growth tech environments
