- • As the Country Lead / Communications Manager for Turkey at Change.org, you will be at the forefront of empowering citizens and amplifying their voices on a global scale. This pivotal role reports directly to the Associate Director of Communications and serves as a cornerstone of our dedicated Communications Team. Your primary mission will be to identify, nurture, and magnify impactful, citizen-driven campaigns, ensuring they achieve significant reach and broad amplification across traditional media, social media, and email channels, always centering the incredible individuals who initiate these movements.
- • Change.org is more than just a platform; it is the world's largest engine for democracy. In an era marked by rising global dissatisfaction with democratic processes, we are making substantial investments in cutting-edge AI technologies. Our goal is to develop the most potent tools available to give people a stronger voice and to foster collaboration across the political spectrum to discover shared solutions.
- • Our core petitions platform, a vital tool used by over 100 million people annually, is experiencing rapid growth. We are undertaking a comprehensive rebuild from the ground up, leveraging new technologies to transform any individual into a powerful civic leader on the issues they are passionate about. Soon, we will launch an innovative new platform designed to identify the over 80% of issues on which most people agree, both locally and nationally, and to mobilize hundreds of millions of people to advocate for these common-ground solutions.
- • To bring this ambitious vision to life, we are assembling the most talented team globally at the intersection of technology and social impact. Every member of this team is dedicated daily to building healthier democracies worldwide.
- • A key outcome of your role will be the consistent identification, support, and driving force behind the most significant people-powered campaign moments. This involves generating strong reach and wide amplification across both social and traditional media, with a steadfast focus on elevating our petition starters.
- • You will be instrumental in increasing the awareness of Change.org and the vital campaigns hosted on our platform among critical audiences, including influential media outlets and key decision-makers.
- • Building and sustaining robust relationships with key journalists, influential figures, civil society organizations, officials, and politicians will be a core responsibility. These connections are crucial for enhancing both the immediate reach of campaigns and the long-term visibility and credibility of the Change.org platform.
- • You will lead Corporate Communications efforts in Turkey, expertly implementing the global strategy across all owned and earned media channels. This involves close collaboration with other functional leads to refine a cohesive global brand strategy, actively contributing to the overall department strategy, goals, and vibrant culture.
- • Your efforts will directly contribute to the growth of platform activity within Turkey. You will engage Change.org's email audience with content that is timely, impactful, and demonstrably high-performing.
- • Maintaining a campaign portfolio that is not only aligned with our core brand principles but also reflects ideological diversity is essential. This approach fosters trust and openness across a wide spectrum of audiences.
- • A significant aspect of your role involves managing the operational and legal needs within Turkey. This includes ensuring local entity compliance with all local regulations and global policies, diligently managing the country budget, and ensuring the accurate execution of all budgetary and accounting processes.
- • You will leverage insight, performance data, and AI tools to strategically plan, pitch, and adapt campaigns for maximum impact. This includes building and refining systems and tools, such as testing frameworks or lightweight automations, to enhance quality and efficiency across the team.
- • Furthermore, you will demonstrate strong autonomy by proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, taking full ownership of tasks, and driving projects to successful completion with minimal supervision, embodying a proactive and results-oriented approach.
