- • The CPI - Surcharge Billing Associate II is a critical role within Ryder System, Inc.'s finance and billing operations, responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of contractual pricing implementations and surcharge billing processes. This position directly impacts revenue integrity and financial reporting by validating complex billing adjustments, maintaining compliance with contractual terms, and supporting month-end close activities. The role serves as a key liaison between billing, finance, IT, and customer-facing teams to drive process improvements and system enhancements.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting contractual language for CPI (Consumer Price Index) and surcharge clauses to update billing systems accurately; processing surcharge and CPI changes, generating financial projections and revenue reports for senior management; conducting customer mileage and hours reconciliations, researching variances, updating odometer databases, and coordinating with the Contractual Billing team; serving as a subject matter expert for CPI and surcharge functions, providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders; gathering and compiling data for regulatory and management reports, completing month-end journal entries, creating customized customer spreadsheets, and managing process approvals; developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, desk guides, training materials, and internal control documentation, including SOX compliance support; performing intermediate-level analysis to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and recommend business process improvements; executing month-end accounting close duties such as account reconciliations and financial reporting tasks as assigned; supporting cross-functional projects across departments, shared services centers (SSC), divisions, and corporate initiatives; and recommending procedural enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within billing operations.
