• We are seeking a dedicated Mortgage Loan Assistant Virtual Assistant (VA) to join our global team of independent contractors. This role is crucial in supporting our clients in developed markets, primarily the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, by streamlining their mortgage loan processes. You will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for both clients and borrowers, from initial application to final closing.
• As a Mortgage Loan Assistant VA, your primary responsibilities will revolve around managing the entire lifecycle of a mortgage loan application. This includes taking complete loan applications over the phone, meticulously inputting borrower information into lender systems, and ensuring all applications are complete and compliant before submission. Your proactive approach to requesting the correct documentation upfront will be key to preventing delays and maintaining workflow momentum.
• Key aspects of your role will include:
• **Loan Application Management:** You will be the first point of contact for borrowers, expertly guiding them through the application process over the phone. Accuracy in data entry into the lender's system is paramount. You'll conduct thorough reviews of applications to ensure they meet all compliance standards before they are submitted, identifying and requesting all necessary documentation at the outset to avoid any potential bottlenecks later in the process.
• **Document Collection and File Preparation:** A significant part of your role will involve meticulously identifying and requesting all required borrower documentation. This includes, but is not limited to, proof of income, asset statements, credit reports, and tax returns. You will then critically review all submitted documents for accuracy and completeness, ensuring they align with lender requirements. Once verified, you will prepare these comprehensive loan files for online submission through various lender portals.
• **Lender Portal and Submission Experience:** You will gain hands-on experience working within prominent lender platforms such as United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) and PennyMac. Your responsibilities will include managing online approvals, diligently tracking status updates, and actively monitoring your pipeline for underwriting decisions. This requires a systematic approach to stay on top of multiple loan statuses simultaneously.
• **Conditions and Stipulation Management:** Upon receiving underwriting decisions, you will be responsible for reviewing any conditions or stipulations that arise. This involves clearly communicating these requirements to borrowers and efficiently gathering and uploading the necessary additional documentation to satisfy these conditions. Timely and accurate responses to stipulations are critical to ensure the loan progresses towards closing without undue delay.
• **Title and Closing Coordination:** You will play a vital role in coordinating with title companies to facilitate the closing process. This includes assisting in scheduling closing appointments and ensuring that all required documentation is submitted and approved prior to the funding of the loan. Your diligent follow-up through the final approval and confirmation of closing will be essential for a successful outcome.
• This is a part-time, independent contractor role, initially requiring 4 hours of work daily for the first 30 days. Based on your performance and the evolving workload, there is a strong potential for this role to be extended. The ultimate objective of your engagement is to significantly contribute to our clients' business efficiency, enhance their service delivery, and support their operational functions through the provision of high-quality, task-specific services. You will be expected to perform your services professionally, adhering strictly to all agreed-upon timelines, guidelines, and deliverables outlined in your independent contractor agreement. We are looking for individuals with a strong understanding of the mortgage loan process, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional remote support.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mortgage Loan Assistant or Loan Processor.
• Proven experience with the end-to-end mortgage loan process, including taking applications over the phone and submitting loans through lender portals.
• Hands-on experience with lender platforms such as United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) and/or PennyMac is strongly preferred.
• Excellent analytical and document review skills with a high attention to detail and strong organizational ability.
