- • Provide vital customer service support to Medicare and Medicaid eligible members by assisting with provider searches, billing issue resolution, prescription requests, and other healthcare-related inquiries.
- • Handle customer service interactions via multiple channels including phone, chat, email, and Microsoft Teams.
- • Accurately document all customer communications in real-time while simultaneously speaking with customers and typing detailed notes.
- • Resolve customer inquiries promptly and effectively, aiming for first-contact resolution through clear education and guidance.
- • Participate in a 20-week structured training program with mandatory attendance and required testing to qualify for the role.
- • Work scheduled hours during training from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday.
- • After training, work rotating weekly shifts that may include early starts as early as 8:00 a.m. EST or late ends as late as 9:00 p.m. EST.
- • Be available to work weekends during the enrollment season (October through March), from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST.
- • Work on select holidays including the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
- • Maintain flexibility to adhere to assigned schedules and work overtime as required to meet operational needs.
- • Demonstrate patience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently under general supervision while collaborating as part of a team.
- • Ensure all interactions comply with company policies and regulatory standards for healthcare customer service.
- • Maintain high standards of professionalism, accuracy, and confidentiality in handling sensitive member information.
- • Meet minimum performance expectations if currently employed by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee.
🎯 Requirements
- • High School Diploma or equivalent
- • At least one year of experience in a customer service support role
- • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- • Ability to talk and type simultaneously with clarity and accuracy
- • Strong oral and written communication skills
- • Independent decision-making and problem-solving abilities
