📋 Description

• The Cybersecurity Advisor II is an experienced, technically capable consultant who helps clients set and advance their cybersecurity strategy over long-term engagements, translating risk into prioritized roadmaps and guiding governance and framework alignment to support business-aware security decisions.
• Day to day, the Advisor serves as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, develops business-aware security roadmaps, advises on governance and compliance using frameworks like NIST CSF 2.0, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, CMMC, HIPAA, or PCI DSS, translates technical risk into clear business language for executives and boards, owns advisory relationships, partners with assessors and engineers, guides clients through security program development, supports incident readiness and tabletop exercises, contributes to Apollo’s advisory methodology, mentors junior team members, and stays current with emerging threats and regulatory changes.

• In this role, the person can learn to mature client cybersecurity postures over time, deepen expertise in framework operationalization and executive communication, contribute to Apollo’s advisory methodology and deliverable standards, build recognized subject matter authority, and drive measurable risk reduction across long-term engagements while mentoring others and staying ahead of evolving threats and regulations.

🎯 Requirements

• Cybersecurity experience, including client-facing advisory, consulting, or security leadership
• Demonstrated ability to develop and communicate cybersecurity strategy and roadmaps to executive audiences
• Deep working knowledge of one or more major frameworks (NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, CMMC) and how to operationalize them
• Strong understanding of security architecture, controls, and risk across on-premises and cloud environments
• Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to lead executive and board-level conversations
• Experience managing long-term client relationships and multiple concurrent engagements
