- • The Cybersecurity Analyst I role at SouthState Bank is critical to safeguarding the institution’s digital assets by monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events across its infrastructure. As part of a growing financial institution with deep community roots, this position ensures the integrity and confidentiality of customer and bank data in alignment with regulatory and internal security standards.
- • Day to day, the analyst monitors security solutions via SIEM and other platforms, reviews logs from network devices and endpoints, investigates anomalous activity, serves as a first responder to potential security incidents, collects and analyzes threat intelligence, and supports incident response efforts. They also provide feedback on alert tuning, validate log sources, and assess system configurations against security standards.

🎯 Requirements
- • Associate degree (or equivalent work experience) in Information Security, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution
- • Two or more years of direct cybersecurity experience, preferably as a cybersecurity analyst or similar role analyzing and responding to security events at a financial institution
- • One or more relevant certifications such as GIAC (GSEC, GCIH, GMON, GCIA, GSOC, GCED, GCDA) or CompTIA (Security+, CySA+)
- • Strong understanding of attack vectors, the cyber kill chain, and threat actor methodologies
- • Ability to analyze system configurations and technical specifications against security control standards to identify deficiencies
- • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
