Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Cybersecurity Assessor at Apollo Information Systems LLC, you will conduct in-depth technical and program-level cybersecurity assessments of client environments, identifying risk, measuring control maturity, and producing clear, actionable guidance that advances each client’s security posture. This role is critical to helping organizations reduce risk, simplify operations, and maintain continuous compliance through Apollo’s unified, outcome-driven security programs.
- • You will independently plan and lead hands-on cybersecurity assessments across enterprise, cloud, and public-sector environments — including election infrastructure at the county, city, and state level. Your day-to-day includes evaluating technical controls, reviewing configurations and artifacts, conducting stakeholder interviews, assessing against frameworks like NIST CSF 2.0, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, CMMC, CJIS, HIPAA, and PCI DSS, producing detailed reports with prioritized findings, translating technical gaps into remediation roadmaps, presenting to technical and executive stakeholders, mentoring junior assessors, and contributing to the continuous improvement of Apollo’s assessment methodologies.
- • Apollo Information Systems is a rapidly growing cybersecurity services company backed by Series A investment, pioneering a cybersecurity-as-a-service model. The company serves state and local government, K-12 and higher education, and mid-market enterprises with deep specialization in election security. You’ll join a collaborative, mission-driven team of smart, ethical professionals who value integrity, customer outcomes, and entrepreneurial thinking, primarily working remotely with a hub in Denver.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in leading cybersecurity assessments across complex environments, gain mastery of multiple compliance frameworks, refine your ability to communicate technical risk to non-technical audiences, mentor junior talent, and directly contribute to shaping Apollo’s assessment methodology and service delivery excellence.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience in cybersecurity with demonstrable experience leading or performing security assessments
- • Direct, hands-on experience assessing environments against one or more recognized frameworks (NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, CMMC, CJIS, HIPAA, or PCI DSS)
- • Strong working knowledge of security controls across operating systems, network infrastructure, cloud services, and identity systems
- • Ability to independently review and assess technical configurations and documentation (firewall rules, GPOs, hardening baselines, logging setups, cloud configs)
- • Excellent written communication and the ability to produce client-ready reports, plus the ability to explain technical findings in plain language to non-technical audiences
- • Experience working with clients in a consulting capacity and managing multiple concurrent engagements
🏖️ Benefits
- • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with the company covering 100% of employee premiums and 90% of dependent premiums on base plans
- • Unlimited PTO, 7 paid sick days, and 11 paid holidays
- • 401(k) with 4% company match after 90 days, immediately vested
- • Company-paid life insurance at 1x annual salary
- • Company-paid Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage
- • $125 monthly home-office tech stipend for internet, equipment, and other technology needs
