Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a CyberSecurity Engineer, SOC Analyst at Mistral AI, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the company’s AI infrastructure and application lifecycle by embedding security into every stage of development and operations, ensuring that innovation proceeds without compromising safety or compliance.
- • You will act as a trusted security partner to engineering and research teams, enabling secure, high-velocity deployment of cutting-edge AI systems through proactive threat modeling, automation, and policy enforcement.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include driving threat modeling and risk prioritization exercises aligned with system design reviews for core infrastructure and new AI products.
- • You will own end-to-end vulnerability management across CI/CD pipelines and runtime environments, covering both infrastructure and application layers to detect, assess, and remediate risks before they impact production.
- • You will secure Kubernetes deployments and containerized workloads by implementing advanced pod and node hardening techniques, network policies, and runtime protections to prevent lateral movement and privilege escalation.
- • You will define and enforce Infrastructure-as-Code security by building robust Terraform guardrails, integrating policy-as-code (e.g., OPA, Checkov) into deployment pipelines, and ensuring drift detection and compliance across multi-cloud environments.
- • You will design and execute a comprehensive security tooling strategy, managing and optimizing solutions for CNAPP, CSPM, SAST, SCA, secrets management (e.g., HashiCorp Vault), and SBOM-CVE tracking to achieve full visibility and control.
- • You will champion developer enablement by creating secure defaults, automating remediation workflows, drafting clear security guidelines, and providing just-in-time security education to reduce friction and increase adoption.
- • You will build foundational security automation using Python, Go, or similar languages to scale security practices alongside Mistral AI’s hyper-growth, reducing manual toil and establishing a pragmatic, embedded security culture.
- • You will collaborate closely with distributed teams across France, USA, UK, Germany, and Singapore, contributing to a low-ego, team-spirited culture that values innovation, transparency, and continuous learning.
- • In this role, you will gain deep expertise in securing AI-native infrastructure, learn to balance security with the unique demands of machine learning workloads, and have the opportunity to shape the security foundation of a pioneering AI company at global scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, Security Engineering, or Cloud Security, preferably as an early security hire in a fast-paced or hyper-scale technology environment.
- • Deep understanding of Kubernetes and container security, including runtime protection, network policies, and image scanning, combined with strong hands-on experience securing Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- • Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Go, or similar languages to build security automation, integrate tools into CI/CD pipelines, and develop custom security utilities.
- • Extensive experience deploying, configuring, and tuning modern security tooling such as CNAPP, CSPM, SAST, SCA, secrets management platforms, and SBOM-CVE tracking systems.
- • Proven ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly and partner effectively with developers and researchers to embed secure defaults without hindering innovation or workflow velocity.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI infrastructure at a rapidly growing, globally distributed AI pioneer shaping the future of foundational models and AI assistants.
- • Hybrid work flexibility with access to offices in Paris and the ability to collaborate across international teams in the USA, UK, Germany, and Singapore.
- • Exposure to and involvement in defining security best practices for AI-specific workloads, including model serving, training pipelines, and data privacy controls.
- • Access to advanced security tooling and cloud platforms, with support for certifications, training, and conference attendance to grow your expertise.
- • A collaborative, low-ego, innovation-driven culture that values initiative, technical excellence, and making a meaningful impact on society through responsible AI.
