- • This part-time independent contractor role as a Data Annotation Specialist at Cohere Inc. is critical to improving the performance and safety of frontier Large Language Models by ensuring high-quality Hindi language data through labeling, ranking, auditing, and correction.
- • The role directly contributes to Cohere’s mission of scaling intelligence to serve humanity by enhancing model understanding of Hindi language inputs, which supports global accessibility and responsible AI development.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include accurately labeling and ranking machine learning data in Hindi, auditing and correcting inaccuracies across text, image, JSON, TSV/CSV, and Markdown formats, completing reading and text-based tasks with high attention to detail, evaluating preference-based responses in Hindi against project guidelines, recommending optimizations for data quality and model performance, providing constructive feedback to cross-functional teams on Hindi language tasks, and maintaining meticulous detail orientation during repetitive annotation work.

🎯 Requirements
- • Native or near-native proficiency in Hindi with excellent command over English
- • Expert reading and writing skills in Hindi, demonstrated through a written assessment
- • Basic familiarity with JSON, TSV, CSV, or Markdown data manipulation formats
- • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, including proofreading work thoroughly
- • High tolerance for repetitive and monotonous tasks, with ability to follow complex instructions independently
- • Superb time management, sense of urgency, and curiosity about technology with creative problem-solving tendencies
