  • • A key aspect of this role involves close collaboration with both technical and business leaders across the organization. You will work to align the data architecture strategy with overarching business goals, ensuring that data initiatives directly contribute to achieving key performance indicators and strategic imperatives.
  • • Navigating the complexities of integrating diverse data sources from various business units and systems will be a significant part of your daily work. This includes understanding the unique characteristics of each data source and developing strategies for seamless integration, transformation, and accessibility.
  • • Ensuring the highest standards of data quality, security, and governance across all systems will be paramount. You will be responsible for defining and implementing policies and frameworks that safeguard our data assets, maintain their integrity, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • • The Data Architect will play a pivotal role in defining the technical roadmap for data warehousing, data lakes, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling. This includes evaluating new technologies and methodologies to enhance data processing capabilities, improve performance, and reduce operational costs.
  • • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation of the data architecture, including data flows, schemas, and integration points, to ensure clarity and facilitate knowledge transfer within the technology team and across the business.
  • • This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential data-related risks and challenges, and developing mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and data reliability.
  • • You will contribute to the development of data governance policies, standards, and procedures, working closely with stakeholders to promote a data-driven culture and ensure responsible data usage.
  • • The Data Architect will also be involved in the selection and implementation of data management tools and platforms, making informed recommendations based on technical requirements and business value.
  • • You will champion best practices in data architecture, including data modeling techniques, metadata management, and data lineage tracking, to enhance the understanding and usability of our data.

  • • You will be an integral part of the data platform team, which is dedicated to building and maintaining the core data infrastructure that underpins all of Arc'teryx's analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making processes across digital platforms, retail operations, and various business units.
  • • Your work will involve collaborating closely with agile squads, developing reliable and efficient data pipelines, and actively contributing to the improvement of overall data quality.
  • • You will also be involved in building and enhancing self-serve analytics tools, empowering business stakeholders with timely and accurate data access to support their analytical needs and strategic initiatives.
  • • Ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of data to analysts and data scientists will be a key responsibility, enabling them to derive valuable insights and drive innovation.
  • • This role is a temporary position, expected to last for 14 months, providing a focused opportunity to drive significant architectural improvements within a defined timeframe.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar senior data modeling and design role.
  • • Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques (e.g., Kimball, Inmon), and database design principles.
  • • Proficiency in designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes and data integration strategies using various tools and technologies.
  • • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related data services.
  • • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
