Data Center Technician

📋 Description

• • Perform daily operations and maintenance of data center infrastructure including cabinets, equipment, and cross-connects.
• • Install, accept, and maintain telecommunications equipment such as switches, routers, ladder racks, fiber guides, MDF, and IDF panels.
• • Execute remote hands requests on behalf of customers, ensuring timely and accurate execution of on-site tasks.
• • Manage and coordinate vendor maintenance activities for all critical infrastructure equipment within the data center.
• • Conduct project installations of telecommunications infrastructure components, including cabling and connectivity solutions.
• • Test and troubleshoot telecommunications infrastructure to identify and resolve connectivity, performance, or hardware issues.
• • Ensure compliance with data center operational standards and safety protocols during all installation and maintenance activities.
• • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate equipment deliveries, rack installations, and cabling deployments.
• • Document all installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
• • Respond to operational alerts and incidents within the data center environment to minimize downtime and maintain service levels.
• • Support customer-facing operations by providing accurate, timely, and professional on-site technical assistance.
• • Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables required for daily data center operations.
• • Adhere to environmental, safety, and ESG guidelines as part of Cologix’s commitment to responsible operations.
• • Work in a 24/7 data center environment, including scheduled and on-call shifts as required by operational needs.
• • Follow strict access control and security procedures when entering and working within restricted data center areas.
• • Assist in the acceptance testing of new customer equipment prior to deployment in the data center.
• • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding status updates, service requests, and operational changes.
