📋 Description

  • As a Data Engineer at Trimble, you will be instrumental in architecting and building the scalable data foundations that underpin one of Europe's largest logistics networks. This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to directly influence how global freight moves more efficiently and sustainably, placing you at the forefront of innovation in the transportation and logistics sector.
  • Trimble is a global leader in industrial technology, dedicated to transforming the way the world works. We develop solutions that bridge the digital and physical realms, empowering professionals across construction, geospatial, government, transportation, and other industries to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and sustainability. Within our Transportation & Logistics segment, we are committed to making freight movement safer, simpler, and more efficient by connecting a vast global network of shippers, carriers, brokers, and 3PLs.
  • This role is exceptionally unique as you will be a key player in migrating and scaling our cloud-based data solutions. You will leverage cutting-edge AI tools, such as Cursor, to tackle complex technical challenges and significantly shape the data strategy for a leading global transportation management system.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to cooperate on the design and implementation of high-performance, scalable data solutions. This includes developing robust data lakes and sophisticated streaming systems capable of handling the immense volume and velocity of global logistics traffic.
  • You will architect and maintain resilient ETL/ELT pipelines and event-driven ingestion processes, ensuring a seamless and reliable flow of data across critical environments such as PostgreSQL, Redshift, and DynamoDB.
  • A significant aspect of your role will involve optimizing cloud resources for peak performance and cost-efficiency. You will ensure our data infrastructure remains lean, powerful, and economically viable, making data-driven decisions to maximize value.
  • Collaboration is key. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and business analysts, to translate intricate business requirements into comprehensive, cloud-based data solutions that deliver tangible, real-world impact.
  • You will actively support and contribute to data governance efforts. This involves establishing and enforcing policies and procedures that guarantee the highest standards of data quality, security, and regulatory compliance across all data assets.
  • You will be involved in the evaluation and adoption of new technologies and methodologies to continuously improve our data engineering practices and capabilities.
  • This role offers a chance to work with a purpose-driven culture, contributing to solutions that address some of the world's most critical challenges in logistics and transportation.
  • You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team environment, fostering a genuine sense of belonging and shared purpose.
  • Embrace an entrepreneurial spirit where initiative and ownership are encouraged, allowing you to author your own success.
  • Contribute to building and delivering solutions that make work faster, safer, and more sustainable for millions of people globally.
  • You will have the opportunity to influence the data strategy of a market-leading global transportation management system.
  • This position is ideal for a proactive individual eager to make a significant impact in a dynamic and growing industry.
  • You will gain hands-on experience with modern data stacks and cloud-native technologies, enhancing your professional development.
  • The role involves working with massive datasets, providing ample opportunities for complex problem-solving and skill enhancement.
  • You will be a key contributor to the evolution of Trimble's data infrastructure, ensuring its scalability and reliability for future growth.
  • Your work will directly impact the efficiency and sustainability of global freight movement, a critical component of the world economy.
  • You will be part of a company that values innovation and actively seeks to improve the way the world works through technology.
  • This is an opportunity to join a team of visionary pragmatists who build impactful and reliable solutions.
  • You will be empowered to take ownership of projects and drive them to successful completion.
  • Contribute to a culture that values Belonging, Growth, and Innovation, where your contributions are recognized and valued.
  • You will work with advanced AI tools to enhance your development workflow and problem-solving capabilities.
  • The role requires a strong understanding of cloud data warehousing and lake concepts, as well as experience with data pipeline orchestration and monitoring.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring data integrity and security, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
  • This position offers a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on implementation, allowing for diverse professional engagement.
  • You will be part of a company that is transforming industries through technology and data.
  • The opportunity to work remotely from various European countries adds flexibility to this role.
