- • As a Data Engineer at Flex, you will design and operate the data and machine-learning systems that determine HSA/FSA eligibility at scale, turning raw merchant catalogs into structured, decision-ready data at checkout.
- • You will build and own data pipelines and ML services, model data domains in warehouses, partner with cross-functional teams to translate needs into reliable data products, and improve architecture for data transformation, ML training/inference, and real-time serving.
- • Flex is an early-stage company backed by First Round, Core VC, and Rethink Capital, powering HSA/FSA payments for health and wellness brands like Equinox, Dermstore, Therabody, and Ultrahuman, with a mission to unlock $150B in annual spending potential.
- • You will have the opportunity to take initiative in a dynamic environment, contribute to operational excellence, and directly impact the company’s growth by building systems that power every eligibility decision Flex makes.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years building production data systems and pipelines in Python or a comparable typed language
- • Strong SQL and data-modeling fundamentals; experience with a modern cloud warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar) and a transformation framework like dbt
- • Hands-on experience deploying machine-learning models to production, owning training, inference, evaluation, and rollout
- • Familiarity with at least one transformer-based ML framework (PyTorch + Hugging Face Transformers preferred)
- • Resourceful, curious, and comfortable learning new tools quickly; thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- • Collaborative and enjoy working across teams to solve problems
