  • As an experienced and impact-driven Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering cutting-edge AI solutions that empower 911 Emergency Communications Centers, law enforcement agencies, and fire/EMS departments.
  • This role offers a unique opportunity to build and maintain the robust data infrastructure that underpins our innovative platforms, such as CommsCoach, BluAssist, and MedAssist, which are designed to enhance training, quality assurance, and performance evaluation.
  • You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of data pipelines, from design and implementation to ongoing maintenance and optimization, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance required for production AI systems.
  • Your expertise will be crucial in managing and optimizing diverse datasets, including structured and semi-structured data, utilizing a range of datastores such as MySQL, Redshift, and OpenSearch.
  • You will actively evaluate and integrate new database technologies and leverage AWS-native tools to continuously improve our data architecture, ensuring it meets the demands of a rapidly evolving AI landscape.
  • A significant part of your role will involve close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including data scientists, fellow engineers, and product managers, to deeply understand and effectively meet the complex data needs across all our systems.

🎯 Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data engineering or closely related backend/infrastructure engineering roles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with both relational (e.g., MySQL) and non-relational (e.g., OpenSearch) datastores, including data modeling, querying, and optimization.
  • Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services relevant to data engineering, such as S3 for storage, Glue for ETL, Lambda for serverless compute, or equivalent services.
  • Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines, with a solid understanding of handling both structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing and manipulation, utilizing libraries like pandas, PySpark, or similar frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to contribute to production codebases, adhering to software engineering best practices.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and proficiency with version control systems, specifically Git.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint and background check across multiple states.
