- • As a Data Engineer at X-Bow Systems Inc., you will be the architect of the data foundation that powers the company’s autonomous pentester platform, enabling AI-driven cybersecurity innovation at scale. Your work will directly support the mission to defeat cyber threats before they materialize by ensuring reliable, secure, and compliant data flows across product, observability, and business systems.
- • You will design, deploy, and maintain robust data pipelines—including data lakes, shaping pipelines, and analysis tooling—that ingest data from product systems, observability tools, and external sources, ensuring high availability, scalability, and integrity for downstream analytics and decision-making.
- • You will own end-to-end data quality across the product and observability stack, defining and enforcing standards, monitoring pipeline health, and resolving inconsistencies to ensure trust in data used for KPIs, product metrics, and security insights.
- • You will collaborate closely with SRE, product, and engineering teams to align data semantics, support debugging and system reliability through observability stacks (including OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog/NewRelic), and ensure data collection meets GDPR, CCPA, and other global privacy and security regulations.
- • You will partner with Product Management to define, gather, and analyze product metrics and user-behavioral analytics, translating business questions into actionable data models and enabling data-informed product development and quality measurement.
- • You will support development teams by ensuring observability pipelines are usable, semantically consistent, and aligned across product components, acting as a data steward who bridges engineering and analytics needs.
- • You will contribute to a mission-driven culture backed by Sequoia Capital and Altimeter, working alongside creators of GitHub Copilot and GitHub Advanced Security to shape the future of offensive security through AI, where your data infrastructure enables breakthroughs in autonomous threat detection and response.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proficiency with SQL and relational database management systems, particularly PostgreSQL, for designing schemas, writing complex queries, and ensuring data integrity.
- • Hands-on experience with large-scale analytics engines such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Databricks for processing and transforming high-volume data pipelines.
- • Proven experience with observability solutions including Datadog or NewRelic, and deep familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana for monitoring, tracing, and visualizing system and data pipeline performance.
- • Strong infrastructure-as-code skills using Terraform and experience deploying and managing data platforms on public cloud environments, including Kubernetes orchestration.
- • Solid understanding of global data privacy and security regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, with ability to implement compliance controls in data collection, storage, and processing workflows.
