ďż˝ Description
- • Join ION Group’s flagship Leadership Development Program in Pisa and spend three years accelerating your career as a Data Engineer Analyst. You will rotate through product teams, receive 1-to-1 coaching from senior architects, attend advanced training bootcamps, and be mentored by C-level sponsors while you turn raw enterprise data into strategic insight.
- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data pipelines that ingest, cleanse, enrich, and distribute information from 4,800+ global customers. You will design resilient ETL/ELT workflows that run 24/7 on MS-SQL Server, Oracle, Databricks, and Apache Spark, ensuring millisecond-level accuracy for trading and risk decisions.
- • Partner directly with business process owners—traders, risk managers, compliance officers, and C-suite executives—to reverse-engineer how data is generated in capital-markets workflows. Through exploratory data analysis you will surface hidden patterns, quantify value, and translate findings into multi-dimensional business-intelligence models that become the single source of truth across the group.
- • Automate everything. You will script Python and Scala jobs that extract data from native trading systems, apply statistical time-series techniques to detect anomalies, and schedule orchestrated pipelines using Airflow or similar tools. Your code will reduce manual effort by 90 % and shrink reporting cycles from days to minutes.
- • Build immersive reporting experiences. Using Power BI, Angular-TypeScript web apps, and programmatic PowerPoint generation, you will deliver interactive dashboards and executive decks that let users slice, dice, and forecast P&L, liquidity, and operational KPIs in real time.
- • Operate what you build. You will monitor SLAs, set up alerting, and perform root-cause analysis when data drifts or jobs fail. Through rigorous testing and version control (Git, CI/CD), you will ensure every release meets enterprise-grade quality standards.
- • Contribute to the data-strategy roadmap. As the voice of early-career talent, you will propose new technologies (e.g., Delta Lake, streaming analytics) and champion best practices in functional programming, data governance, and cloud cost optimization.
- • Grow without limits. Every six months you will rotate to a new squad—risk, treasury, post-trade, or market-data—gaining 360° visibility into how global financial markets operate. By year three you will have led at least one green-field project and presented its ROI to the board.
- • Thrive in a culture that prizes curiosity, evidence-based decisions, and respectful debate. You will pair-program with PhD quants, debate model assumptions with product VPs, and share your learnings at internal tech talks and external meetups.
- • Live in Pisa—a vibrant university city 15 minutes from the sea and 50 minutes from Florence—while working in a modern campus equipped with standing desks, espresso bars, and panoramic views of the Leaning Tower.
