  • • Design, deliver, and govern scalable conceptual, logical, and physical data models for both OLTP and data warehouse environments to support operational and analytical business needs.
  • • Translate complex business requirements into optimized data structures that ensure data integrity, quality, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • • Establish, document, and enforce enterprise-wide data standards, naming conventions, and modeling best practices across all database technologies.
  • • Collaborate closely with data analysts, database administrators, data architects, and software engineers to ensure data models meet technical and functional requirements.
  • • Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and security, ensuring efficient data access and storage across systems.
  • • Utilize enterprise-approved AI tools to enhance modeling efficiency and accuracy while maintaining compliance with organizational policies.
  • • Work with cross-functional teams to communicate technical data concepts in clear, user-friendly presentations and digital communications for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • • Maintain strong organizational skills to manage multiple modeling projects simultaneously with a high degree of reliability and work ethic.
  • • Ensure all data modeling activities adhere to governance frameworks and support regulatory and compliance obligations within the healthcare data domain.
  • • Participate in final in-person interviews at the Chattanooga, TN headquarters, despite the role being fully remote.
  • • Act as a subject matter expert in data modeling practices, providing guidance and mentorship to team members on modeling methodologies and tool usage.
  • • Continuously evaluate and improve existing data models to support evolving business intelligence and reporting needs.
  • • Maintain accurate documentation of all data models, changes, and dependencies to support audit readiness and knowledge transfer.
  • • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify ambiguities, and validate model outputs against business objectives.
  • • Apply proven problem-solving skills to resolve modeling conflicts, performance bottlenecks, and data consistency issues across systems.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3 years of experience in data modeling, data analysis, database, or related role
  • • Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science-related field or equivalent work experience
  • • Proven skill with database technologies and data modeling tools in use at BCBST (e.g., erwin DM or comparable enterprise tools)
  • • Ability to distill complex technical subjects into clear, user-friendly presentations and communications
  • • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • • Must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
