- • At ReflectionAI Inc., we are on a mission to build open superintelligence and democratize its access for everyone. Our groundbreaking work in developing open-weight models for individuals, agents, enterprises, and even nation-states is driven by a world-class team of AI researchers and seasoned company builders, many of whom hail from prestigious institutions like DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Brain, Meta, Character.AI, and Anthropic.
- • In the rapidly evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence, data has emerged as a pivotal force, often driving more significant advancements than novel architectures. As our Data Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping the very foundation of our AI models. The data operations you architect and manage will directly influence our models' proficiency in critical capabilities such as agentic tool use, long-horizon reasoning, and robust safety alignment. You will collaborate closely with leading AI researchers at the forefront of innovation, while simultaneously building the essential operational infrastructure to scale these ambitious efforts.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to cultivate a profound understanding of ReflectionAI's research objectives, product roadmap, and overarching business strategy. From this deep comprehension, you will derive the critical data requirements and devise effective sourcing strategies. This involves working hand-in-hand with our researchers to meticulously grasp their nuanced technical needs, establish stringent quality benchmarks, and then orchestrate the development of robust partnerships and sophisticated data pipelines that consistently meet and exceed these standards.
- • You will spearhead cross-functional initiatives aimed at accelerating research velocity without ever compromising the integrity and quality of our data partnerships. This includes the comprehensive management of these partnerships, from the initial evaluation of potential suppliers and the negotiation of favorable agreements to the rigorous verification of all deliverables. Your role demands a deep immersion in the broader data ecosystem, enabling you to identify emerging gaps and uncover unique opportunities to innovate at the cutting edge of AI development.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical acumen, allowing them to discern the characteristics of high-quality training data, and exceptional operational excellence to ensure its consistent delivery. You will be adept at anticipating and proactively resolving bottlenecks, mitigating risks, and eliminating inefficiencies across all facets of data operations, thereby maximizing throughput and overall impact.
- • This role offers an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to the foundational development of open foundational models. You will be an integral part of a small, talent-dense team, helping to define not only the future of ReflectionAI but also the trajectory of open AI research. We are committed to empowering you to achieve the most impactful work of your career, knowing that you and your loved ones are fully supported.
- • Key responsibilities will include:
- • Defining and executing data sourcing strategies aligned with research and product roadmaps.
- • Establishing and enforcing data quality standards in collaboration with research teams.
- • Managing end-to-end data acquisition processes, including vendor selection, negotiation, and performance monitoring.
- • Developing and optimizing data pipelines to ensure efficient and timely delivery of training data.
- • Identifying and evaluating new data sources and technologies to enhance model capabilities.
- • Building and maintaining strong relationships with external data partners and suppliers.
- • Troubleshooting and resolving operational issues to ensure seamless data flow.
- • Contributing to the strategic direction of data operations within the company.
- • Collaborating with engineering and research teams to integrate data operations with AI development workflows.
- • Ensuring compliance with data privacy and security regulations.
- • Analyzing data operations performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
- • Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in data management and AI.
- • Facilitating clear communication between technical researchers and external data providers.
- • Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the data operations team.
