- • As a Data Platform Engineer at Nexus Cognitive LLC, you will play a critical role in enabling organizations to transform complex data into actionable insights by managing and optimizing the underlying data infrastructure that powers AI, analytics, and cloud innovation. Your work ensures that clients can focus on strategic decision-making without being hindered by the complexities of modern data platforms.
- • You will manage the daily operations of NexusOne products across on-premise and cloud environments, installing, configuring, and maintaining Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) clusters with minimal downtime while adhering to best practices for performance, security, and scalability.
- • Your responsibilities include optimizing distributed production deployments, configuring security via Ranger and Kerberos, setting up monitoring with Datadog, developing technical documentation, participating in agile workflows, providing expert on-call support, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design scalable data solutions.
- • You will stay current with emerging technologies in the Hadoop ecosystem, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and open-source tools like Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Iceberg, and Kubeflow, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation in data platform operations.

🎯 Requirements
- • US Citizenship Required
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience installing and administering Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) in large-scale, hybrid (on-premise and cloud) environments
- • Hands-on expertise with open-source Linux-based data technologies including Spark, Kafka, NiFi, Iceberg, Jupyter Notebooks, Kubeflow, MLFlow, and cloud-native tools across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- • Strong proficiency in configuring and managing CDP security using Ranger and Kerberos, integrating with directory services like Azure Active Directory, FreeIPA, and LDAP
- • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, optimize CDP performance (memory, CPU, storage, network), and maintain high availability through patching, upgrades, and capacity planning
- • Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles to support operational excellence and team knowledge sharing
