Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As a Data Product Manager, Growth Tech at Kin Insurance, you will own the "why" behind conversion by connecting data across tools, surfacing insights, and partnering with engineering to ship improvements that drive measurable growth in a mission-driven, remote-first environment focused on making homeowners insurance simpler, more affordable, and better for customers in climate-vulnerable and underserved markets.
- • You will analyze and synthesize data across five core systems — site behavior (FullStory), customer segmentation (Twilio Segment), CRM (HubSpot), call performance (Regal), and internal policy and quote data — to identify lead drop-off points and conversion drivers, then translate these insights into prioritized, high-impact product improvements that enhance both business outcomes and customer experience.
- • You will define, scope, and deliver product improvements in close partnership with data engineering teams, establishing the data layer as a single source of truth for core business metrics and enabling reliable, self-serve analysis across sales and operations through clear metric definitions and shared dashboards.
- • You will improve data quality and instrumentation to ensure accurate decision-making, synthesize complex multi-source data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations, and partner cross-functionally to ensure insights lead to measurable improvements in lead-to-bind conversion rates and stakeholder alignment.
- • You will operate within Kin’s values-driven culture — running through walls together, raising the bar while dropping ego, acting like an owner, operating lean to deliver more, and keeping curiosity alive through data-based experimentation — contributing to a company recognized as a Best Place to Work, Forbes’ Best Startup Employer, Inc. 5000 honoree, and Fintech 50 listee, all while advancing Kin’s mission to fix insurance for those who need it most.
- • Over your first 6–12 months, you will establish yourself as a trusted owner by identifying and addressing key conversion drop-off points through shipped improvements, delivering high-impact product changes that measurably improve conversion rates, aligning stakeholders on metrics, and making data more reliable, consistent, and actionable — directly impacting Kinfolk and the homeowners they serve.
🎯 Requirements

- • Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to independently extract, join, and analyze data across multiple sources
- • Experience with BI and data platforms such as Looker and Databricks
- • Familiarity with CRM and sales tooling such as HubSpot
- • Proven ability to synthesize complex, multi-source data into clear insights and prioritized action plans
- • Experience working closely with engineering teams to define, scope, and ship product features
- • Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote-first work environment with flexibility to live and work in any of 40 U.S. states (including CA for exempt roles only), plus access to offices in Chicago, IL and St. Petersburg, FL for collaboration
- • Opportunity to work at a mission-driven company recognized as a Best Place to Work (Built In Chicago, 2021–2026), Forbes’ America’s Best Startup Employer (2021–2024), Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Company, Forbes’ Fintech 50, and Great Places to Work Certified (2024–2026)
- • Culture rooted in ownership, lean innovation, curiosity, and teamwork — where you’re encouraged to ask ‘What if?’, take initiative, and see your impact reinvested into better pricing, more products, and customer innovations
- • Hiring process designed to be clear, respectful, and human, with real recruiters making decisions, prompt feedback, skills assessments if applicable, and genuine human interaction at every step
- • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer, with accommodations available for applicants with disabilities upon request
