- • As a Data Science Manager at Stripe, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for driving data-driven decision-making across critical financial infrastructure products like Embedded Finance (Capital, Issuing) and Connect, directly impacting how businesses globally accept payments, grow revenue, and scale operations.
- • Day to day, you will drive team roadmaps and priorities, collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, risk, marketing, and ops stakeholders, manage and mentor data scientists, recruit top talent, and contribute to company-wide data science initiatives while staying hands-on in modeling and technical design.
- • You’ll join Stripe’s MaaS (“Money as a Service”) or Growth Data Science teams, which are central to powering money movement, platform solutions, and user growth for some of the world’s most innovative companies, operating at the intersection of finance, technology, and scalable data systems.
- • In this role, you will deepen your leadership expertise in scaling data science organizations, advance your technical impact through ML systems and data products at scale, and shape Stripe’s data strategy while fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture that supports both business outcomes and team growth.
🎯 Requirements
- • A PhD, MS, or BS in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
- • At least 3 years of direct management experience leading data science or ML teams, and 10 years of overall data science experience.
- • Demonstrated expertise in designing metrics and guiding business decisions with data.
- • Technical expertise to drive clarity with staff and senior scientists on architecture and strategic modeling decisions.
- • Experience managing teams that have built and shipped machine learning systems and data products at scale, with hands-on experience solving challenging problems.
- • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, rigorous decision-making ability, and comfort with autonomy and responsibility.
- • Clear and persuasive communication skills in writing and verbally.
- • Commitment to fostering a healthy, inclusive, challenging, and supportive work environment.
