- • As a Data Scientist in Finance at Whatnot, you will partner across the business to uncover insights and influence decisions using data analytics, acting as the data owner for Finance functions including accounting, tax, strategic finance, profitability, and the executive office.
- • Day to day, you will build production-quality data products, dashboards, and notebooks to deliver actionable KPIs, drive improvements in contribution margin by analyzing business drivers, and collaborate on data engineering to ensure financial datasets are reliable and scalable.

- • In this role, you will develop expertise at the intersection of finance and engineering, strengthen your ability to translate complex financial data into business impact, and grow your influence in shaping data-driven decision-making across a fast-growing marketplace.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of experience in Data Analytics/Science
- • Background in Consulting, Fintech, Payments, or Finance
- • Expertise in data engineering and analytics engineering (data storage and architecture)
- • Strong background in data tooling and visualization with proficiency in BI tools and self-serving notebooks
- • Expert-level SQL skills for data analysis, reporting, and dashboarding
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related technical field
- • Excellent verbal communication skills to explain financial-data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
