Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of machine-learning models that power ShiftKey’s marketplace, from data ingestion and feature engineering to deployment and continuous monitoring. You will enhance existing models for shift scoring, last-minute pricing, and demand forecasting while building new predictive and prescriptive capabilities that directly influence how thousands of healthcare facilities and professionals connect every day.
- • Translate complex business questions into rigorous data-science problems. You will sit shoulder-to-shoulder with Product Managers, Engineers, and Operations leaders to scope requirements, define success metrics, and design experiments that prove (or disprove) the value of your solutions. Expect to run A/B tests, quasi-experiments, and causal-inference studies that quantify the impact of every model you ship.
- • Rapidly iterate on greenfield ideas and legacy code alike. Whether you are refining gradient-boosted pricing models or prototyping a deep-learning recommender for shift matching, you will balance scientific rigor with the speed required in a high-growth startup. Your pull requests will be reviewed by Senior Data Scientists, and you will in turn mentor junior analysts, raising the bar for reproducible, well-documented research.
- • Expand the company’s AI toolkit by researching and applying state-of-the-art techniques. You will explore new data sources—such as real-time geolocation feeds, macro-economic indicators, and healthcare licensure databases—to uncover signals that improve model accuracy. When appropriate, you will experiment with transformer architectures, graph neural networks, or generative AI to solve novel marketplace challenges.
- • Build robust data pipelines and feature stores that scale. Working closely with Data Engineers, you will productionize Python notebooks into scheduled Airflow DAGs, containerize models with Docker, and deploy them on AWS SageMaker or Lambda. You will also establish automated monitoring for data drift, concept drift, and model degradation, ensuring that every prediction remains trustworthy in production.
- • Communicate insights that drive executive decisions. You will craft concise narratives backed by clear visualizations—sometimes in Looker, sometimes in bespoke Streamlit apps—to help C-level leaders understand model ROI, forecast scenarios, and strategic trade-offs. Your storytelling will bridge the gap between statistical nuance and business impact.
- • Champion a culture of ethical, responsible AI. You will evaluate fairness across demographic groups, audit models for unintended bias, and document limitations transparently. By embedding privacy-preserving techniques and adhering to GDPR standards, you will ensure that ShiftKey remains a trusted platform for both healthcare professionals and facilities.
- • Contribute to the Warsaw tech community. Whether hosting meetups in our river-view office, publishing blog posts on Medium, or open-sourcing non-proprietary tooling, you will represent ShiftKey as a thought leader in data science and healthcare innovation. Your voice will help attract top talent and reinforce our reputation as a mission-driven scale-up.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of hands-on experience delivering data-science solutions that moved business KPIs in production environments.
- • Expert-level Python fluency (pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM) and advanced SQL for complex data transformations.
- • Solid grasp of statistical modeling, experimental design, and causal-inference methods; exposure to deep learning or generative AI is a strong plus.
- • Demonstrated ability to deploy and monitor ML models on AWS (SageMaker, Lambda, S3, EC2) or equivalent Azure/GCP services; familiarity with Docker and basic MLOps practices.
- • Exceptional communication skills—able to explain model intuition, limitations, and business impact to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
🏖️ Benefits
- • High-growth, friendly culture with clear career-development paths and mentorship from senior leaders in Data, Analytics & AI.
- • Additional paid vacation days beyond the statutory minimum to support genuine work-life balance.
- • Modern riverside office in Warsaw’s vibrant Powiśle district—complete with panoramic Vistula views, game room, bike storage, and walking distance to top restaurants.
- • Comprehensive private medical package tailored to your needs, plus life and accident insurance for peace of mind.
- • Multisport card and wellness stipend to keep you active, plus regular team off-sites and hackathons in inspiring locations.
