- • The Data Security Engineer II at Centene Corporation plays a critical role in safeguarding the sensitive health data of 28 million members by designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise data protection systems across hybrid cloud environments. This role directly contributes to improving health outcomes by ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data through advanced security controls and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- • Day to day, the engineer will support enhancements to Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) tools, develop systems for detecting sensitive data accessed by or used in large language models (LLMs), work with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms to implement secure configurations, correlate DLP events with SIEM/SOAR telemetry for automated response, prepare reports on data access trends, apply metadata tagging and sensitivity labels aligned with HIPAA, NIST, and ISO 27001 standards, assist in audit readiness, ensure server environment stability, document SOPs, and support release testing.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and 2–4 years of related experience, or equivalent experience demonstrating applicable knowledge and skills.
- • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premise infrastructure, including experience with endpoint controls such as USB/CD-R restrictions and outbound monitoring.
- • Experience with Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) tools, metadata tagging, sensitivity labeling, and applying controls aligned with HIPAA, NIST, and ISO 27001 standards.
- • Ability to develop systems for detecting sensitive data used in or accessed by large language models (LLMs).
- • Experience integrating DLP with SIEM/SOAR platforms for automated threat detection, correlation, and response.
- • Preferred: CISSP certification; Proofpoint Email Fraud Defense, Security+, Cloud+, CEH, CHFI, or Microsoft/AWS certifications are highly valued.
