• • As a Data Test Automation Engineer at Hawkeye Innovations Limited, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of large-scale sports tracking data that powers officiating, broadcast, and analytics systems used in over 30,000 events annually across 90 countries. Your work will directly impact the quality of data that supports elite sports technology, making this role essential to maintaining trust in Hawk-Eye’s world-leading solutions.
• • You will design, build, and maintain automation frameworks focused on validating data pipelines, APIs, and datasets, starting with core data checks in one sport and scaling across others. Day-to-day responsibilities include testing data flows in AWS environments (S3, Glue, Athena), collaborating with Java/Spring Boot microservice teams, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), creating synthetic test data, identifying testing gaps, and contributing to data quality metrics and validation strategies. You’ll also work closely with QA engineers and developers to strengthen end-to-end data testing practices.
• • You will join a modern, cloud-based QA team that supports tracking technology across major sports including tennis, cricket, football, and US sports. The team operates with a culture of openness, collaboration, and continuous learning, encouraging knowledge sharing, cross-functional movement, and ownership without silos. Based in the UK with hybrid working (minimum 2 days per week in Basingstoke, London, or Bristol offices), you’ll benefit from in-person collaboration, whiteboarding sessions, and deep engagement with real-time data systems.
• • In this role, you will develop strong expertise in data validation, automation testing, and cloud data platforms while gaining hands-on experience with Python (Pandas), SQL, AWS services, Java/Spring Boot, and CI/CD tooling. You’ll have the opportunity to grow into advanced areas such as data contract testing and work closely with downstream engineering teams, positioning yourself as a key contributor to data quality strategy in a high-impact sports technology environment.
