- • Own the end-to-end customer experience during the weekend-evening window when many mission-critical systems are most active. You will be the first and often only line of defense for developers and SRE teams who depend on TigerData to keep their applications fast, reliable, and always available.
- • Diagnose and resolve complex PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB issues across transactional, analytical, and agentic workloads. This ranges from slow queries and lock contention to hypertable partitioning, vector-search performance, and multi-region replication lag.
- • Act as a trusted consultant, not just a ticket closer. You will guide customers through schema redesign, index strategy, retention policies, and cost-optimization techniques, turning one-off questions into long-term architectural wins.
- • Manage a queue of high-priority support cases from initial triage through root-cause analysis, patch verification, and post-mortem documentation. You’ll use Jira, Slack, and our internal knowledge base to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
- • Reproduce customer environments in our lab using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud snapshots so you can test fixes safely before rolling them out. You’ll automate these reproductions wherever possible to speed up future investigations.
- • Contribute reusable runbooks, diagnostic scripts, and Grafana dashboards back to the team. Your weekend discoveries become Monday’s enablement material for peers on other shifts.
- • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to escalate bugs, shape roadmap priorities, and refine documentation. Your frontline insights directly influence what we build next.
- • Champion a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement. Whether it’s debating the merits of BRIN vs. B-tree indexes or sharing a new psql trick in Slack, you help everyone level up.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
- • 3+ years administering relational databases at scale (PostgreSQL strongly preferred)
- • Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing technical support or SRE role
- • Proficiency with SQL, query-plan analysis, and performance tuning
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on familiarity with TimescaleDB, AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes
