Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Join Twilio as a Deal Desk Finance Analyst and become an integral part of our North American Go-to-Market motion, driving the future of communications from a remote-first environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain and expand cross-functional experience by supporting complex, non-standard commercial agreements and Order Forms (OFs). You will be a key partner to our Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams, ensuring that deals are not only commercially sound but also aligned with Twilio's strategic and financial objectives, creating a true win-win scenario for both our customers and the company.
  • • As a Deal Desk Finance Analyst, you will be instrumental in establishing and nurturing trusted working relationships with your Deal Desk colleagues, Commercial Legal, Billing Operations, Finance, and Sales teams. Your ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain forward deal momentum will be crucial, especially during high-pressure periods like month-end and quarter-end close. You'll be expected to troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve issues that impede deal velocity, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for all stakeholders.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve educating and guiding the Sales and GTM Operations teams on Twilio's internal contracting policies and processes. You will act as a subject matter expert, ensuring adherence to established procedures while also identifying opportunities for process improvement. This proactive approach helps maintain compliance and operational efficiency across the organization.
  • • You will be responsible for meticulously analyzing the economic viability of both standard and non-standard agreements. This includes a deep dive into pricing structures, discount levels, contract term lengths, usage commitments, and the overall impact on company margins. Your analytical insights will directly inform deal structuring and approval decisions.
  • • Partnering closely with the Sales team, you will help structure commercially sound deals by evaluating the intricate tradeoffs between price, contract terms, sales volume, and associated risks. A key aspect of this collaboration is ensuring that all proposed deals align with Twilio’s established financial guardrails and profitability targets.
  • • You will develop and review basic financial models and scenarios to support the evaluation of non-standard deal requests. This analytical work will provide critical data points for management and approval committees, enabling informed decision-making on complex transactions.
  • • This role provides end-to-end support for Account Executives (AEs), from initial quote generation through to contract signature. This includes assisting with CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) quote building, obtaining necessary pricing and order form approvals, facilitating Order Form creation, managing Docusign execution, and ensuring accurate opportunity closure in our systems.
  • • Under the guidance of your manager or a senior team member, you will collaborate with Sales to draft non-standard language requests for contracts. This process requires careful attention to detail and strict adherence to corporate policies and legal guidelines to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • • A vital contribution will be surfacing recurring deal patterns, identifying common approval exceptions, and pinpointing operational friction points within the deal desk process. By highlighting these areas, you will actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our deal desk processes, workflows, and overall efficiency, making it easier for Sales to close deals.
  • • This role is ideal for a curious, action-oriented individual who embodies the Twilio Magic values. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong analytical and financial acumen, and excel at clear communication. If you're passionate about enabling sales success through robust financial analysis and efficient deal execution, this is the opportunity for you.
  • • Twilio is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. As a remote-first company, we embrace global inclusion and believe that diverse experiences make us stronger. We encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply and contribute to our mission of revolutionizing how the world interacts.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Deal Management, Sales Operations, Sales, Finance, or Business Operations, with a preference for experience in contracting, procurement, or billing operations. Alternatively, a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • • Demonstrated analytical and financial skills, with a proven ability to assess deal economics, understand financial tradeoffs, and clearly articulate findings and recommendations.
  • • A highly diligent and detail-oriented approach, with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and maintain exceptional organization.
  • • Self-starter mentality with a proactive, "can-do" attitude, comfortable seeking information and asking clarifying questions to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with financial analysis, data manipulation, and scenario modeling.
  • • High integrity and a strong ethical compass, demonstrating a commitment to Twilio's core values and the "Twilio Magic" principles.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and eligibility for Twilio's equity plan.
  • • Comprehensive health care insurance coverage.
  • • 401(k) retirement savings program.
  • • Generous paid time off, including sick time, personal time off, and parental leave.
  • • Opportunity to work remotely within the US, with approximately 5% travel anticipated.
  • • Be part of a dynamic, globally inclusive, and remote-first company culture that empowers employees to build positive change in their communities.
