Default Associate, Mortgage Assistance Quality Control

📋 Description

• • The Mortgage Assistance QC Specialist ensures the accuracy and compliance of loss mitigation applications and workout documentation, serving as a critical quality control checkpoint before and after borrower-facing documents are processed.
• • Day to day, the role involves auditing loss mitigation files for adherence to CFPB, FHA, VA, USDA, FNMA, and FHLMC guidelines; validating financial data and eligibility; identifying and documenting defects; preparing monthly QC reports; collaborating with processors, underwriters, and vendors; managing tasks within SLAs; and contributing to process improvement initiatives through feedback and training participation.
• • The Default Servicing team at Valon oversees default-related processes to prevent foreclosures, minimize investor losses, and support homeowners facing financial hardship through transparency, financial literacy, and compliant workout solutions.
• • In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in mortgage regulatory compliance, strengthen analytical and auditing skills, gain experience with mortgage servicing systems, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-scaling, technology-driven mortgage servicer backed by a16z and managing over $130B in loans.
