📋 Description

• Own the global delivery engine of Datatonic Limited, Google Cloud’s premier AI partner, and turn operational excellence into a competitive advantage for world-class clients.
• Build, inspire and lead a brand-new Delivery Operations team (Barry, Iva & Lucie) that will become the backbone of every successful engagement across the UK, Europe and the Americas.
• Design and continuously refine end-to-end resource-management processes that maximise billable utilisation, protect margins and delight clients from first scoping call to final invoice.
• Translate strategic growth targets into weekly, monthly and quarterly capacity plans, forecasting demand 3–6 months ahead and pre-empting talent gaps before they threaten revenue.
• Partner shoulder-to-shoulder with Sales, Delivery and Finance leadership to create a single, data-driven view of pipeline, staffing and profitability that guides every major decision.
• Govern the integrity of all delivery data—skills matrices, allocations, timecards, billing rates—so that dashboards and reports are trusted by executives, investors and clients alike.
• Coach and mentor your team to become autonomous problem-solvers who can balance empathy for consultants with ruthless efficiency for the business.
• Drive the adoption of standard operating procedures that streamline the entire project lifecycle, from opportunity qualification and SOW creation to resource onboarding, delivery milestones and invoicing.
• Produce and present executive-level reporting packs that reveal trends in utilisation, margin leakage, bench cost and client satisfaction, turning numbers into actionable insights.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement: run retrospectives, A/B test new workflows, and roll out lightweight automation that frees people to focus on high-value work.
• Act as the air-traffic controller for all global assignments—matching the right machine-learning engineer, data architect or analytics consultant to each client challenge, while balancing career-development goals and travel constraints.
• Own the monthly billing cycle, ensuring timecards are submitted, approved and invoiced accurately so that cash-flow forecasts remain rock-solid.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to build a robust bench strategy: define role profiles, forecast hiring ramps, and design onboarding paths that shrink ramp-up time for new joiners.
• Influence pricing and commercial models by providing real-time data on delivery cost, average bill rates and margin trends across service lines (consulting, academy, managed services).
• Serve as the escalation point for critical resourcing conflicts, mediating between client urgency, consultant aspirations and company profitability to find win-win solutions.
• Represent Delivery Operations in quarterly business reviews, sharing success stories, lessons learned and next-quarter action plans to an audience of C-suite leaders.
• Stay ahead of industry benchmarks—benchmark utilisation, bench cost and project margins against other top-tier cloud consultancies—and push Datatonic into the top quartile.
• Embed a mindset of “data first” across the company, training Delivery Managers to read and act on operational dashboards without waiting for manual reports.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to integrate new tooling (e.g., PSA, CRM, time-tracking) with minimal disruption and maximum user adoption.
• Celebrate wins loudly: recognise high-performing teams, share best-practice playbooks, and create a feedback loop that turns operational excellence into Datatonic’s brand promise.

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams in a global resource-management or delivery-operations role within a professional-services or consulting environment.
• Proven track record of owning utilisation, capacity-planning and margin-improvement metrics for multi-million-pound portfolios.
• Advanced data literacy: ability to build, interpret and present dashboards in tools such as Google Looker Studio, Tableau or Power BI.
• Expert-level stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to negotiate priorities between Sales, Delivery, Finance and C-level executives.
• Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud ecosystems, and familiarity with PSA or ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, FinancialForce, Harvest).
