- • Own the end-to-end delivery engine for BTSE’s Business Intelligence team, turning a high-growth data science group into a predictable “analytics factory” that ships insights at the speed the business demands.
- • Act as the single point of accountability for every inbound data request—serving as both Product Manager and diplomatic translator who can excavate the real business question buried inside a vague stakeholder ask and convert it into crisp technical specs.
- • Run agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) for a distributed team of data scientists and analysts, balancing workload, surfacing risks early, and removing blockers so the team can focus on deep work instead of firefighting.
- • Build and continuously refine Standard Operating Procedures that govern how requests are triaged, scoped, estimated, and delivered; institutionalize these processes so that quality and velocity scale even as headcount grows.
- • Partner with Data Engineering to stand up a Data Quality Framework that catches anomalies before they reach dashboards, and personally own QA/UAT sign-off for every new deliverable before it lands in front of executives.
- • Provide senior-level technical guidance on data modeling, metric definition, and dashboard architecture—mentoring analysts on best practices while still rolling up your sleeves to review SQL, dbt models, or Tableau workbooks when needed.
- • Serve as the escalation path for stakeholder expectations, negotiating scope and timelines with diplomacy and data, and saying “no” constructively when necessary to protect the team’s capacity and strategic priorities.
- • Spearhead the creation of a brand-new Mobile Analytics function—crafting the vision with Product leadership, defining the KPI hierarchy for mobile trading flows, hiring the first Mobile Analyst, and managing the roadmap for mobile-specific insights.
- • Coach and develop high-potential ICs into future leaders through regular 1:1s, career-path planning, and hands-on feedback loops that accelerate both technical depth and business acumen.
- • Monitor team health metrics (cycle time, throughput, stakeholder NPS) and iterate on process experiments that demonstrably improve predictability—transforming anecdotal chaos into a metrics-driven operation.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Compliance, and Product to ensure that every data product aligns with BTSE’s strategic pillars: Exchange, Payments, and Infrastructure Development.
- • Champion a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing, ensuring that tribal knowledge is captured in Confluence and that onboarding new team members takes days, not weeks.
- • Stay ahead of industry trends in fintech analytics—evaluating new tools, methodologies, and governance practices that can give BTSE a competitive edge in a rapidly evolving crypto landscape.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years in data analytics, BI, or related fields with at least 3 years leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
- • Demonstrated product mindset: proven ability to deconstruct ambiguous stakeholder requests and translate them into clear, actionable technical requirements.
- • Deep expertise in agile delivery and project management tools (Jira, Linear, or equivalent) with a track record of optimizing team velocity and predictability.
- • Strong stakeholder management skills—politically savvy, able to manage expectations and communicate complex concepts to non-technical executives.
- • Hands-on technical fluency in SQL, data modeling, and dashboard design; comfortable acting as a player-coach who can guide architecture while empowering the team.
- • Nice-to-have: experience in fintech or cryptocurrency; hands-on with Databricks, Tableau, or similar modern data stack; prior success building an analytics vertical from zero to one.
