📋 Description
- • As Deputy General Counsel, Commercial at Tools for Humanity Corporation, you will lead and scale the global commercial legal function to support the company’s most critical growth initiatives, particularly strategic partnerships and integrations that advance the World Network’s mission of verifying real humans in the age of AI while preserving privacy. This role is pivotal in enabling high-velocity, high-integrity commercial transactions that power the adoption of World ID, World App, and Orb technology across global ecosystems.
- • You will own the end-to-end commercial contracting lifecycle — from structuring and drafting complex agreements to leading negotiations, managing escalations, and advising senior stakeholders on risk allocation and transaction strategy — ensuring legal guidance is clear, actionable, and aligned with business objectives in fast-moving, high-stakes environments.
- • You will partner closely with product, business development, operations, finance, and subject matter experts in regulatory, privacy, IP, and security to move strategic initiatives forward quickly while maintaining rigorous risk discipline and legal compliance.
- • You will build and scale a world-class commercial legal team by refining operating models, developing playbooks and templates, implementing automation (including Ironclad and AI-enabled tools), establishing performance metrics, and mentoring legal professionals to handle increasing deal volume and complexity with consistency and excellence.
- • You will drive operational excellence by creating self-service tools, decision frameworks, and feedback loops that enable business autonomy without compromising oversight, while continuously improving contracting workflows for speed, quality, and scalability.
- • You will grow professionally by shaping the legal infrastructure of a pioneering technology company at the intersection of AI, blockchain, biometrics, and global identity, gaining unparalleled experience in negotiating novel deal structures, advising visionary leadership, and building scalable legal functions in a high-growth, mission-driven environment backed by top-tier investors and recognized by TIME, Fast Company, Bloomberg, and The New York Times.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8–15+ years of experience as a Commercial or Technology Transactions attorney at a leading law firm and in a senior in-house role with meaningful ownership of complex transactions and/or commercial legal functions
- • Proven experience building, mentoring, or significantly improving commercial legal teams or functions, including developing people, playbooks, processes, and scalable operating models while leading by example through direct ownership of key transactions
- • Excellent communication and influence skills: ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical, business-oriented guidance and drive alignment across stakeholders, including senior leadership, in fast-moving, high-stakes situations
- • High emotional intelligence, executive presence, judgment, and integrity: builds trust through credibility, low-ego approach, and composure under pressure while navigating complex interpersonal dynamics
- • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability: track record of improving processes, driving consistency and quality across high-volume transactions, and balancing risk with speed in execution
- • Ability to work in-person in San Francisco, CA
