• • As a DevOps Engineer at Foresight Diagnostics, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our diagnostic test development and production by building, automating, and optimizing the critical software delivery pipelines and infrastructure that power our cutting-edge molecular diagnostics.
• • You will be at the forefront of implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) best practices, ensuring that our innovative solutions are delivered quickly, reliably, and securely.
• • Your primary focus will be on automating deployment workflows, effectively bridging the gap between our talented development and bioinformatics teams and the robust infrastructure they depend on.
• • You will leverage a modern technology stack, primarily working with GitHub Actions for CI/CD, Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and a suite of cloud-native tools across both Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• • **Key Responsibilities include:**
• • **CI/CD Pipeline Development and Management:** Design, build, and meticulously maintain sophisticated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. This includes automating the entire software lifecycle from build and comprehensive testing to seamless deployment, ensuring high quality and rapid iteration.
• • **Infrastructure as Code (IaC):** Implement and manage robust infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform. This will enable repeatable, version-controlled, and auditable infrastructure deployments, ensuring consistency and reducing manual configuration errors across our cloud environments.
• • **Automation of Deployments:** Automate the deployment and configuration of a wide range of components, including applications, complex bioinformatics pipelines, and essential supporting services. This automation will span both our GCP and AWS environments, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• • **Scripting and Operational Efficiency:** Develop and maintain automation scripts primarily in Python and Shell (Bash). These scripts will be crucial for streamlining day-to-day operations, minimizing manual intervention, and significantly improving the reliability and speed of our deployment processes.
• • **Containerization and Orchestration:** Implement and manage containerized applications using industry-leading technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. You will also work with cloud-specific container services like Google Cloud Run and AWS container services, optimizing for performance and scalability.
• • **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Work in close partnership with our software engineering and bioinformatics teams. Your role will involve understanding their unique requirements, challenges, and workflows to collaboratively optimize deployment processes and enhance developer productivity.
• • **Monitoring, Logging, and Alerting:** Configure, implement, and maintain comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions. This ensures continuous visibility into the health and performance of our applications and CI/CD pipelines, enabling proactive issue resolution.
• • **Security Implementation:** Integrate and enforce security controls within our CI/CD pipelines. This includes secure secrets management, robust access controls, and automated vulnerability scanning to maintain a secure and compliant environment.
• • **Configuration Management:** Manage configuration for our application environments and specialized bioinformatics workstations, ensuring consistency and ease of management.
• • **Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:** Create and maintain detailed, comprehensive documentation for all deployment processes, operational runbooks, and troubleshooting guides. This is critical for supporting our regulatory compliance efforts and enabling efficient knowledge transfer.
• • **Continuous Improvement:** Actively drive continuous improvement initiatives across the DevOps landscape. Your efforts will focus on reducing deployment friction, optimizing build times, and ultimately increasing the overall productivity and satisfaction of our development teams.
