📋 Description

• Write and publish technical content including blog posts, project teardowns, and Hacker News writeups based directly on Fractional AI’s engineering work and real-world AI implementations.
• Build and grow Fractional AI’s engineering brand on platforms where top-tier developers engage — including Hacker News, technical podcasts, niche developer communities, and industry conferences.
• Organize and run high-signal community events such as intimate dinners, workshops, and small-scale gatherings that foster non-transactional relationships with practicing engineers.
• Drive and contribute to open source projects that reflect the team’s engineering standards and showcase Fractional AI’s approach to building reliable AI systems.
• Establish and manage strategic partnerships with complementary technical brands through co-sponsored events, joint content publishing, and community cross-pollination.
• Act as a bridge between engineering and external developer communities by translating complex technical work into clear, credible, and resonant narratives.
• Embed directly within the engineering team to attend architecture reviews, read production code, and engage in technical discussions to ensure content authenticity and depth.
• Collect and synthesize feedback from developer communities to inform engineering leadership on emerging trends, skepticism, and areas of technical interest.
• Maintain a high bar for technical credibility by avoiding hype and focusing on what practitioners genuinely find valuable, useful, and honest.
• Contribute to shaping Fractional AI’s engineering culture by embodying the company’s values of overdelivering, overusing AI, and over-engineering culture.
• Leverage direct access to 30+ shipped AI products to create content grounded in real engineering outcomes, not marketing materials or press releases.
• Ensure all external communications reflect Fractional AI’s distinct methodology: applying software engineering discipline to non-deterministic AI systems, testing hypotheses, curating durable datasets, and prioritizing long-term reliability.
• Represent Fractional AI at technical events with authenticity, demonstrating deep understanding of AI architecture, evaluation design, and production tradeoffs.
• Proactively identify opportunities to elevate the company’s reputation among engineers without relying on traditional marketing tactics.
• Maintain low ego and high integrity in all interactions, prioritizing team collaboration, honesty, and mutual respect over personal recognition.
• Embrace ownership of outcomes without waiting for direction, treating every task — from writing a blog post to organizing a dinner — as critical to building the engineering brand.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong engineering foundation with hands-on experience shipping software and understanding system design, AI architecture, evaluation design, and production tradeoffs.
• Exceptional technical writing ability with a proven track record of producing content that engineers read, share, and respect — not just consume.
• Deep understanding of the developer zeitgeist — ability to distinguish credible technical insight from hype and predict what resonates in communities like Hacker News.
• High ownership mindset with a “no job too big, no job too small” attitude and the ability to operate autonomously while shaping strategy.
• Low ego and high integrity, with a demonstrated commitment to collaboration, honesty, and helping others without seeking personal credit.
• Experience engaging with technical communities through events, open source, podcasts, or niche forums where engineers gather.
