📋 Description

• • As an Underwriter at Stand Insurance Company, you will execute the underwriting strategy for a high-net-worth personal lines book, focusing on complex homes, unique exposures, and catastrophic risks that other carriers avoid. You will work directly with brokers and cross-functional teams to evaluate challenging risks, structure innovative terms, and deliver a seamless experience that positions Stand as the easiest carrier to work with.
• • Day to day, you will own your book, make decisive underwriting calls on complex submissions, grow your portfolio to premium and policy targets while maintaining strict risk quality, reduce quote-to-bind time through clear communication and workflows, and help refine underwriting tools by identifying repeatable tasks for systematization.
• • Stand Insurance Company is reimagining high-net-worth personal lines insurance by combining deep underwriting judgment with advanced physics and AI to model catastrophic risk at the asset level and automate underwriting before loss occurs. The company builds systems that change outcomes, not just prices, and stays in markets where traditional insurers exit.
• • In this role, you will develop expertise in evaluating CAT-exposed properties, unique collections, and non-standard liability exposures; sharpen your ability to balance client needs with sound risk selection; gain influence in shaping how technology enhances underwriting judgment; and build a reputation as the go-to underwriter for brokers facing complex challenges.
