📋 Description
- • Redgate Software is seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cambridge. This pivotal role is integral to the development and enhancement of Redgate Monitor, one of our flagship products. As a DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Group Software Architect, various engineering teams, and the Technical Operations department, taking ownership of and driving the evolution of our build, test, and release pipelines.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to design, automate, and meticulously maintain our Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. This involves optimizing workflows, improving feedback loops for development teams, and significantly enhancing the reliability and coverage of our automated tests. The ultimate goal is to empower our engineering teams to deliver high-quality software rapidly and securely, minimizing risks and maximizing efficiency.
- • In addition to pipeline management, you will leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to manage the underlying infrastructure that supports our on-premises and cloud-based build, test, and delivery processes. This ensures consistency, repeatability, and scalability of our environments.
- • A crucial aspect of this role involves providing operational insights into how our customers utilize Redgate Monitor in their own environments. This feedback loop is vital for understanding real-world usage, identifying potential issues, and informing future product development and operational improvements.
- • Redgate is committed to fostering a strong DevOps culture. Over the next year, we are actively evolving our engineering organization to fully embrace a DevOps mindset. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be at the forefront of enabling this transformation, acting as a bridge between development and operations teams.
- • You will help teams confidently build, package, and release software changes, and crucially, facilitate learning from production usage. This includes implementing robust monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies to gain visibility into application performance and user experience.
- • This role requires a strong software engineering background, meaning you should be comfortable working with production code and understanding software development lifecycles. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our software delivery process.
- • You will be expected to troubleshoot and resolve complex build and test failures, identify performance bottlenecks in the CI/CD pipelines, and implement solutions to optimize them. This proactive approach ensures that development velocity is maintained without compromising quality.
- • Furthermore, you will contribute to the security of our software supply chain by implementing security best practices within the CI/CD pipelines, such as vulnerability scanning and secure artifact management.
- • The role also involves staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure, and evaluating their potential application within Redgate.
- • You will play a key role in fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and shared responsibility for the software delivery lifecycle.
- • By ensuring robust and efficient delivery mechanisms, you will directly contribute to Redgate's mission of helping data professionals get the most value out of any database, solving complex database management challenges across the DevOps lifecycle.
