Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Shape the backbone of WalkMe’s Digital Adoption Platform—now part of SAP—by owning the CI/CD pipelines that deliver new features to 2000+ enterprise customers and hundreds of millions of end-users every day.
- • Partner with Cloud Engineering squads to design, build, and harden AWS-native infrastructure that scales to petabyte-level analytics workloads while maintaining sub-second response times for in-app guidance.
- • Automate everything: from Terraform-driven multi-region clusters to self-healing Kubernetes services, you will reduce deployment times from hours to minutes and eliminate toil through GitLab-driven workflows.
- • Instrument observability that matters—deploy Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana dashboards that surface golden signals (latency, traffic, errors, saturation) and empower developers to own their code in production.
- • Secure the stack end-to-end: bake CIS benchmarks into AMIs, rotate secrets via Vault, enforce OPA policies in admission controllers, and collaborate with our FedRAMP team to meet FISMA Moderate controls for our Federal business line.
- • Champion developer experience—maintain local-env tooling (Docker-Compose, Skaffold, or equivalent) so engineers can spin up a full replica of our micro-service mesh in under five minutes.
- • Troubleshoot and root-cause complex issues across Linux, containers, service meshes, and managed data stores (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB) while keeping MTTR under SLA targets.
- • Continuously evaluate bleeding-edge tech—run proof-of-concepts for Graviton-based EC2, Bottlerocket OS, or Argo CD progressive delivery—and present findings to the architecture guild.
- • Contribute to incident retrospectives and post-mortems, translating lessons learned into automated safeguards and runbooks that prevent recurrence.
- • Collaborate with product managers and security architects to translate compliance requirements into Infrastructure-as-Code guardrails without slowing feature velocity.
- • Mentor junior engineers through pair-programming and brown-bag sessions, fostering a culture of operational excellence and psychological safety.
- • Drive cost-optimization initiatives—rightsizing, spot-instance orchestration, and automated shutdown schedules—that save six-figure cloud spend annually.
- • Participate in an on-call rotation (follow-the-sun model) with a blameless culture and a relentless focus on automation to keep pages rare.
- • Contribute to internal open-source libraries and tooling that are reused across SAP’s broader cloud portfolio, amplifying your impact beyond WalkMe.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of hands-on DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering experience in production AWS environments
- • Proven mastery of containerization and orchestration—Docker and Kubernetes at scale with Helm or Kustomize
- • Expert-level CI/CD design using GitLab CI or similar, including security scanning, canary, and blue-green strategies
- • US citizenship required to support Federal contracts and FedRAMP boundary systems
🏖️ Benefits
- • Hybrid schedule—3 days in SAP’s state-of-the-art NYC Hudson Yards office, 2 days wherever you focus best
- • Quarterly wellness stipend, daily BrightBreaks, and an annual Wellness Month every July to recharge
- • Competitive total-rewards package: base salary $100k–$150k plus annual bonus and robust retirement contributions
- • Generous PTO plus RefreshMe Days sprinkled throughout the year to protect work-life balance
