📋 Description

• • Own the DevOps vision for a fast-growing SaaS platform that is modernizing local government services across the United States. You will be the single point of technical authority for infrastructure, security, and reliability, shaping how millions of citizens interact with their municipalities.
• • Architect, deploy, and maintain resilient, multi-cloud environments spanning AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will design landing zones, networking, IAM, and cost-optimization strategies that scale from a handful of pilot cities to hundreds of production tenants without re-work.
• • Lead the SOC2 Type II compliance program end-to-end: translate controls into infrastructure-as-code, automate evidence collection, and partner with external auditors to achieve and renew certification every 12 months. Your work directly determines whether sensitive constituent data remains protected and whether the company can sell into new public-sector verticals.
• • Build and harden CI/CD pipelines that deliver 20+ micro-services to production multiple times per day. You will standardize on GitHub Actions, Terraform, Helm, and ArgoCD while introducing progressive delivery, canary releases, and automated rollbacks that reduce mean-time-to-recovery (MTTR) to under five minutes.
• • Establish 24×7 observability using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and OpenTelemetry. You will define SLIs/SLOs, tune alert thresholds, and create self-healing runbooks so that on-call engineers sleep through the night and wake up to actionable, context-rich incidents.
• • Champion a culture of security-by-design. You will embed SAST/DAST scanning, container image signing, secrets management with Vault, and policy-as-code with OPA so that every pull request is automatically vetted for vulnerabilities before it reaches staging.
• • Collaborate daily with backend, frontend, and data engineering squads to translate product roadmaps into infrastructure requirements. You will run architecture review sessions, brown-bag demos, and blameless post-mortems that raise the technical bar across the entire organization.
• • Optimize cloud spend through rightsizing, reserved capacity, and automated shutdown schedules. You will present monthly cost dashboards to the executive team and implement guardrails that keep gross-margin targets on track while still enabling rapid experimentation.
• • Mentor mid-level DevOps engineers through pair-programming, code reviews, and career-path planning. Although the role starts as an individual contributor, you will lay the groundwork for a future DevOps team of 4-6 engineers that you will recruit, interview, and ramp within the next 18 months.
• • Influence product strategy by translating infrastructure constraints into user-visible features—e.g., turning compliance artifacts into a public “Trust Center” that accelerates enterprise sales cycles by 30%. Your voice will be heard in quarterly OKR planning and roadmap prioritization.
