- • The DevSecOps Engineer role is critical to safeguarding The Economist Group’s digital infrastructure across its four business units, ensuring secure delivery of insights to a global audience.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting penetration tests and risk assessments, designing secure architectures, auditing embedded code for vulnerabilities, leading security engineering initiatives, coordinating incident response, and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines using tools like CircleCI and AWS.
- • The Economist Group is a globally recognised organisation delivering analysis and insights through The Economist, Economist Impact, Economist Intelligence, and Economist Education, serving subscribers in 170 countries with a commitment to innovation, independence, and rigour.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in cloud security, secure software development, threat modelling, and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS), while gaining influence as a trusted security advisor across engineering and executive teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field, or equivalent proven skills with practical software engineering experience.
- • Proven experience in cybersecurity, including penetration testing, vulnerability management, and secure architecture design.
- • In-depth knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
- • Proficiency in cloud security and development, with AWS as a prerequisite, and experience with CI/CD best practices (CircleCI).
- • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, plus excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- • Experience with vulnerability management tooling (code scanning, IaC), cryptography, exploit development, and auditing code and features.
