📋 Description

• Lead the implementation of PCI DSS controls across infrastructure and application layers in a high-compliance fintech environment.
• Design and secure AWS infrastructure using best practices for IAM, networking, encryption, and least-privilege access models.
• Own Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines using Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, or similar tools to improve deployment reliability and consistency across environments.
• Integrate security controls directly into CI/CD workflows to embed DevSecOps principles across engineering teams.
• Enhance platform scalability, observability, reliability, and fault tolerance for enterprise-grade payment processing systems.
• Manage and optimize security tooling, monitoring, logging, and incident readiness processes to ensure rapid detection and response.
• Partner with internal auditors and compliance stakeholders to drive certification initiatives including SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
• Define and document cloud security and infrastructure best practices to standardize engineering workflows and reduce risk.
• Mentor engineers on secure infrastructure design, secure coding practices, and operational resilience.
• Contribute to long-term platform architecture decisions that align with business growth and regulatory requirements.
• Operate in a fully remote environment with an international team, collaborating across time zones in the EMEA region.
• Work with a tech stack including AWS, TypeScript/Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and MongoDB to build and maintain secure payment infrastructure.
• Drive cloud cost optimization and operational efficiency while maintaining high availability and security standards.
• Support the evolution of a startup-scale fintech platform transitioning into an enterprise-grade, compliance-focused system.
• Engage directly with product and engineering leadership to shape the company’s security and infrastructure strategy from the ground up.
• Contribute to incident response planning and post-mortem processes to continuously improve system resilience.
• Maintain strict adherence to GDPR and other data protection regulations in all infrastructure and operational decisions.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related backend infrastructure roles
• Strong hands-on AWS experience in production environments
• Proven experience implementing or working with PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, or similar technologies
• Deep understanding of IAM, network security (VPCs, subnets, isolation), encryption, and secrets management
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure CI/CD workflows
