- • In this dynamic role, you will handle incoming calls on demand, accurately rendering the meaning of conversations between Dewoin and English speakers. Your daily responsibilities will encompass interpreting across a wide spectrum of industries, including healthcare, emergency services (911, first responders), education, government agencies, insurance, financial services, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, and legal settings. You will process information rapidly and concisely, demonstrating a keen awareness of sensitive cultural differences. Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times is paramount, as is the correct application of industry-specific terminology and an understanding of common procedures and practices. The interpreting sessions you manage can range from straightforward exchanges to complex, technical discussions, requiring a high degree of adaptability and linguistic precision. You will be trained with industry-leading methods, enhancing your existing skills and developing new ones, all within a certified ASTM and ISO environment. Support will be readily available from Senior Language Specialists and dedicated Interpreter and Technology Help Desks, ensuring you have the resources needed to excel.

Punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours are essential, as is the ability to follow client instructions and protocols to meet client expectations without unauthorized interaction with the Limited English-speaking Person (LEP). A thorough understanding of industry-specific protocols and terminology, particularly in medical, insurance, finance, and legal fields, is crucial. You must demonstrate a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and thrive in a diverse work environment. It is important to note that some calls may be highly emotional or stressful, potentially requiring extended periods on a call without breaks. You must possess the ability to maintain company standards of service within this dynamic and demanding environment, adapting to technology enhancements that improve service delivery and meet client demands. This role is ideal for individuals who are fluent in Dewoin and English, possess strong listening and retention skills, and can concentrate, remain detached, neutral, and objective during sensitive conversations, including those involving end-of-life discussions, pregnancy termination, vaccinations, and matters of sexual orientation or gender expression. While written translation is not part of this role, translators and other skilled linguists are encouraged to apply, as the primary function is verbal interpretation. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and while not mandatory, education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation, or interpretation is highly preferred. You must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring future visa sponsorship. Candidates currently employed by a client of LanguageLine Solutions or an affiliated business may not be eligible. The ability to read and write the requested languages is also highly preferred. A quiet and secure home-office environment is essential for this remote position. Technical requirements include a dedicated personal device (desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone) with a compatible operating system (Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS, Android), excluding Kaspersky products and Huawei hardware. A high-speed internet connection with specific minimum download (5 Mbps), upload (3 Mbps) speeds, and maximum Ping (300 ms) and Jitter (30 ms) values is mandatory. Physical requirements include the ability to operate a keyboard and mouse, remain stationary for the majority of the workday, operate company software, possess sufficient manual dexterity for typing or writing, and be able to lift up to 26 lbs.
