📋 Description
- • The Digital Marketing Specialist at Plasmidsaurus LLC plays a pivotal role in amplifying the company’s mission to accelerate scientific discovery by making complex genomics accessible and engaging to the global research community. This role bridges technical scientific accuracy with playful, authentic brand storytelling to build trust and engagement among bench scientists who value substance over slick advertising.
- • The person will manage day-to-day execution of social media and email marketing efforts, ensuring consistent, on-brand communication that resonates with scientists through lab-humor, technical precision, and community-driven content, while supporting broader marketing and sales objectives.
- • Plasmidsaurus is a fast-growing biotech innovator revolutionizing DNA and RNA sequencing with affordable, rapid turnaround services used by Nobel laureates, Fortune 100 pharma, and over 70,000 scientists worldwide. The marketing team is central to scaling awareness and adoption of their disruptive sequencing technologies across global research communities.
- • The role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in scientific communication, digital marketing in niche technical audiences, and cross-functional collaboration within a mission-driven startup, enabling the individual to shape how cutting-edge biotech tools are discovered and adopted by researchers.
- • Own the end-to-end execution of social media content across platforms including Twitter/X, BlueSky, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, maintaining a consistent content calendar that balances timely scientific moments with evergreen educational and engaging posts.
- • Create original social content — including graphics, short-form video, and copy — that translates complex sequencing workflows (e.g., Gibson Assembly, contamination troubleshooting) into relatable, accurate, and engaging narratives that reflect the realities of lab life.
- • Act as the brand voice in community engagement by responding to comments, participating in scientific conversations, and fostering relationships with researchers to build loyalty and advocacy around Plasmidsaurus services.
- • Support email marketing campaigns using HubSpot by building targeted lists, designing on-brand templates, writing scientifically accurate copy, and executing workflows for product announcements, technical updates, and lead nurturing.
- • Design and edit digital assets using Canva, Adobe, CapCut, or Descript, ensuring all visuals and videos are scientifically correct (e.g., proper DNA helix orientation) while maintaining the brand’s warm, playful, and science-forward aesthetic.
- • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, Design, and Product Management teams to align content with campaign goals, product launches, and customer journey stages, ensuring cohesive messaging across touchpoints.
- • Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics including follower growth, engagement rates, click-through rates (CTR), and conversion data to optimize social and email strategies in real time.
- • Contribute to audience segmentation and database hygiene efforts within HubSpot to improve targeting and personalization of scientific outreach based on research niches like Synthetic Biology or Gene Therapy.
- • Stay current with emerging social media formats, tools, and trends — particularly those relevant to scientific communities — and experiment with new formats to keep Plasmidsaurus ahead in digital engagement.
- • Represent Plasmidsaurus at industry conferences 2–3 times per quarter (if based in San Francisco) or through monthly travel (if in San Diego), helping to gather insights, network with scientists, and amplify brand presence in person.
