- • Serve as a strategic advisor to the office of the CFO in private equity-backed portfolio companies, focusing on finance strategy and process improvements including capability and maturity assessments, operating model design, and technology optimization roadmaps.
- • Lead end-to-end enhancements across core financial processes: order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, and FP&A, with a focus on increasing effectiveness, reducing costs, and improving shareholder value.
- • Design and implement KPI dashboards and tracking tools to enable data-driven decision-making and forward-looking financial insights.
- • Manage multiple concurrent client engagements, ensuring project timelines are met, client expectations are managed, and course corrections are executed as needed.
- • Build and maintain relationships with C-suite executives at portfolio companies and representatives from private equity sponsors.
- • Conduct financial and operational assessments to identify inefficiencies and recommend actionable transformation initiatives.
- • Drive finance automation and technology deployment projects to modernize finance functions and improve reporting accuracy and speed.
- • Assist in business development by identifying growth opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and contributing to the expansion of Accordion’s European footprint.
- • Sponsor and lead internal initiatives to strengthen practice capabilities, knowledge sharing, and team development within the London office.
- • Travel extensively across Europe to deliver client engagements and support regional growth objectives.
- • Act as a leader and mentor to team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture through example and direct support.
- • Communicate complex financial and operational concepts clearly to senior stakeholders, including PE sponsors and portfolio company leadership.
- • Balance hands-on execution of project workstreams with oversight of broader client engagements, demonstrating both strategic vision and operational detail orientation.
- • Operate with an entrepreneurial mindset in a flat, fast-growing organization, contributing to the scaling of Accordion’s presence in Europe while leveraging global firm resources.
- • Maintain up-to-date expertise in strategic finance best practices, particularly around professionalizing the finance function within private equity portfolios.
- • Apply strong Excel and PowerPoint skills to develop client deliverables, financial models, and executive presentations.
- • Demonstrate a client-service mindset focused on delivering exceptional value and long-term partnerships with private equity clients.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 8+ years of relevant professional experience in a client-serving role at a top-tier accounting or financial advisory firm, or a senior-level mix of client service and private industry experience
- • Proven experience managing multiple client engagements simultaneously, including managing dynamics with both clients/sponsors and internal teams
- • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA is a plus
- • Subject matter expertise in financial business processes including order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, and FP&A
- • Extensive experience designing and implementing strategies, processes, and technology solutions that increase effectiveness, reduce costs, and improve profit/shareholder value
- • Experience working with private equity firms and understanding of the unique dynamics of PE-backed portfolio companies
