- • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver financial consulting solutions for private equity-backed portfolio companies, focusing on enhancing CFO office capabilities in financial planning, analytics, and operational performance.
- • Design and implement structured data aggregation processes to establish a single source of truth for financial and operational reporting across complex organizational structures.
- • Collaborate directly with CFOs, private equity sponsors, and operating teams to define key performance indicators, validate business drivers, and develop monthly board and management reporting packages.
- • Build automated reporting systems using Excel, PowerQuery, PowerPivot, and PowerBI to transform complex datasets into user-friendly, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- • Diagnose inefficiencies in budgeting, forecasting, and financial control processes, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions tailored to post-transaction or high-growth environments.
- • Quarterback comprehensive budget planning initiatives by coordinating across FP&A, sales, operations, and senior leadership teams to align financial plans with strategic objectives.
- • Design and implement consolidated finance functions following corporate acquisitions, including defining organizational structure, roles, responsibilities, and headcount alignment across multiple entities.
- • Select, configure, and deploy ERP solutions that meet the financial reporting and operational needs of newly combined businesses post-acquisition.
- • Develop detailed, week-by-week training plans to transition ownership of financial processes to client teams, ensuring sustainable adoption and long-term capability building.
- • Create standardized analytical tools, financial models, and template reporting frameworks that support ongoing forecasting, cash flow management, and performance tracking.
- • Deliver clear, data-driven presentations and memos to senior executives, translating complex financial analyses into strategic recommendations with actionable outcomes.
- • Mentor and lead junior consultants and project teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaborative problem-solving.
- • Manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously, balancing hands-on execution with leadership responsibilities across client engagements.
- • Operate in a hybrid model with flexibility to work remotely two days per week, based in one of Accordion’s offices in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, or New York City.
- • Engage with clients in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments, demonstrating adaptability, initiative, and a strong work ethic while upholding the highest professional standards.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA is a plus
- • Minimum 10 years of experience at a top-tier private equity firm, investment bank, and/or consulting firm
- • Proven experience in FP&A within an operating company or direct interaction with private equity funds and portfolio companies
- • Advanced quantitative skills and expertise in financial modeling and corporate valuation
- • Demonstrated ability to leverage Excel, PowerQuery, PowerPivot, and PowerBI to manage, analyze, and present large, complex datasets
- • Transactional finance experience and understanding of operational finance
