📋 Description
- • Director Analyst-Direct Spend Procurement Technology role at Gartner involves serving as a thought leader and industry expert who creates must-have insights, market predictions, and best practices for world-leading organizations in the procurement technology space.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include creating innovative and thought-provoking insights content, developing new ideas through thought leadership, conducting in-depth analysis to identify client barriers, demonstrating thought leadership across analyst teams, researching and predicting market trends, providing actionable advice to clients via virtual or face-to-face interactions, creating and delivering high-value presentation materials at Gartner events and conferences, supporting sales teams as the voice of the market, providing content peer review, building credibility as an industry expert, mentoring junior team members, and actively participating in innovation and research discussions.
- • The role is part of Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group, which guides enterprise leaders with objective business and technology insights to help them succeed with mission-critical priorities. Gartner is a global research and advisory firm with 21,000 associates supporting ~14,000 client enterprises across ~90 countries, known for its high-impact work and recognition as a great place to work.
- • In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in direct procurement technologies, AI applications in procurement and supplier risk, digital transformation strategies, and ROI measurement from technology investments. They will develop thought leadership that influences research agendas, enhance executive presence and client engagement skills, and grow their impact by shaping how global organizations optimize their direct spend procurement through technology.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred
- • 10+ years of experience with procurement technologies for direct spend transformation, including leading strategic projects focused on digital enablement for direct materials procurement
- • Strong familiarity with procurement technology solutions such as SAP Ariba, GEP, Ivalua, Oracle, Levadata, and SourceDay, plus experience integrating these with ERPs, MRPs, or other supply chain technologies
- • Demonstrated excellence in research and writing ability, strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills, and ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
- • Executive presence with ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders, strong organizational skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines while producing high-quality deliverables
- • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% where applicable
