📋 Description
- • Join Imagine Pediatrics, a pioneering pediatrician-led medical group dedicated to reimagining care for children with special healthcare needs. We are a tech-enabled organization committed to delivering comprehensive 24/7 virtual-first and in-home medical, behavioral, and social care. Our mission is to break down barriers to quality care by working collaboratively with families, providers, and health plans, enhancing existing care teams with compassion, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to children with medical complexity.
- • As the Director, Behavioral Health, you will be the clinical leader for behavioral health services within a defined market or sub-region. This pivotal role involves providing direct supervision and mentorship to Behavioral Health Managers, while actively supporting the strategic initiatives focused on integrated and holistic care delivery. You will be instrumental in shaping the day-to-day clinical operations, fostering the development and performance of clinicians and care team members, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care within value-based care frameworks.
- • **Operational Leadership:** You will be responsible for operationalizing the strategic vision set forth by the Regional Medical Director (RMD) for your designated region. This includes translating high-level strategy into actionable plans for pod clinicians and care team members. You will provide crucial closed-loop feedback to the RMD, enabling strategic adjustments based on real-world operational challenges and successes. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with the RMD, Associate Medical Director, Health Services Director (HSD), and General Manager (GM) to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key leadership stakeholders.
- • You will play an active role in facilitating daily huddles, clinical team meetings, and Interdisciplinary Team Meetings (IDTs). Your involvement will foster robust clinical discussions, enabling Managers to effectively mitigate complex clinical scenarios and ensure optimal patient care. Providing real-time clinical guidance and decision-making support to the care teams is a core function of this role. Furthermore, you will oversee the implementation and adherence to established clinical protocols, ensuring consistency and quality across the region. Ensuring appropriate clinical documentation and coding practices are maintained, and monitoring compliance with clinical quality standards and regulatory requirements are also critical responsibilities.
- • **Quality & Performance Monitoring:** A significant aspect of your role will involve monitoring the productivity, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction scores of Managers and their respective care teams. You will ensure strict adherence to clinical excellence and documentation standards, driving a culture of continuous improvement. Your participation in quality improvement initiatives and clinical model enhancements will be vital in shaping the future of our care delivery. You will also support the implementation of continuing education programs and new processes to keep our teams at the forefront of best practices.
- • **Change Management Support:** You will collaborate with the RMD, Associate Medical Director, HSD, and GM on regional initiatives and the implementation of change management strategies. Your efforts will focus on ensuring smooth regional operations through effective stakeholder alignment and facilitating the integration of external feedback into operational improvements, fostering an agile and responsive care model.
- • **People Management:** This role includes direct supervision and performance management of Behavioral Health Managers. You will conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and goal-setting sessions with your direct reports to foster their professional growth and ensure team effectiveness. You will also lead the recruitment, onboarding, and orientation processes for new provider and care team member staff, building a strong and capable team. Monitoring capacity and utilization levels across the region and ensuring optimal deployment of resources will be essential.
- • **Development & Support:** You will facilitate Behavioral Health Grand Rounds and other peer learning opportunities, encouraging case-based discussions and knowledge sharing. Providing coaching and support on challenging clinical cases and complex family situations is a key aspect of this role. You will also champion provider well-being and engagement initiatives, recognizing the importance of supporting our clinical staff.
- • **Health Plan Collaboration:** You will attend Health Plan Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meetings as directed by the RMD, particularly for stable, smaller plans. Participation in Clinical Workstream Meetings and attending Health Plan Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings at the direction of the RMD are also expected. You will collaborate with the RMD to prepare for larger Health Plan meetings and support value-based care contract performance and reporting, ensuring strong partnerships with our health plan stakeholders.
- • **Provider Network Relations & Stakeholder Management:** You will collaborate with the Network Engagement team to build and strengthen community relationships and foster strong connections with stable external provider partners. Representing the organization at external clinical meetings and events, participating in community health initiatives and partnerships, and supporting referral relationship development and maintenance are crucial for expanding our reach and impact.
- • **Strategic Partnerships:** You will collaborate with external clinical specialists and subspecialists to enhance our care offerings. Supporting the development of clinical affiliations and partnerships, and engaging in community outreach and education initiatives will further solidify our position as a leader in pediatric special healthcare needs.
- • This is a remote position, with expected travel up to 10%. The expected schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Central Time. The role requires independent licensure in Texas or Missouri (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LMHC).
