  • • As Director of Clinical Operations at Vision Service Plan (VSP), you will provide strategic oversight and direct operational and administrative functions that impact doctor services and clinical operations across the organization. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality eye care services by supporting optometrists in their practices and driving operational excellence through innovation, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • • You will lead, manage, and monitor all clinical operations initiatives and projects, including the adoption of new software and hardware technologies, financial modeling for key clinical investments, and execution of doctor-led programs. Your leadership will directly influence key performance indicators such as Capture Rate, Premier Attachment, and Exams Per Hour, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and alignment with VSP’s vision and values.
  • • You will partner closely with Field and Central Operations Teams, IT, vendor partners, and clinical staff to ensure seamless integration of technology, efficient clinic operations (including new, relocation, or remodel projects), and consistent patient experiences. Your role involves facilitating optometrist engagement, supporting doctor-led practices, and serving as a liaison between clinical teams and corporate leadership to drive strategic initiatives forward.

šŸŽÆ Requirements

  • • Optometry Degree from an accredited school or college of Optometry
  • • Licensed Optometrist in California
  • • Minimum of five (5) years of related clinical or operational experience
  • • Minimum of 6 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work, and managing performance of direct reports
  • • Strong communication and operational skills
  • • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email communication
