📋 Description

• Director Cloud Security AI Engineering at Bank of Montreal leads the Cloud Data and AI Engineering teams to advance cloud data and AI capabilities across the enterprise, driving innovation and modernization of data platforms at scale.
• Day to day, the role involves managing and guiding technical teams on scalable cloud data platforms, designing enterprise AI/ML systems, enabling self-service data capabilities, overseeing deployment and integration, developing work plans aligned with enterprise architecture, and fostering Agile practices while promoting team alignment and operational excellence.
• The team operates within BMO’s Technology group, collaborating with Platform Engineering leadership, Enterprise Data Management, AI Center of Excellence, and business stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge data and AI solutions that support enterprise strategy and innovation.
• In this role, the individual will develop technical leadership expertise, shape multi-year product strategy for data and AI platforms, drive adoption of MLOps and DataOps, enhance team capabilities through coaching and hiring, and gain influence in enterprise architecture and AI/ML governance at a major financial institution.

🎯 Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in technical data engineering or AI/ML platform roles in large enterprise environments
• Deep expertise in cloud data platform architecture including ingestion, storage, processing, streaming, and metadata management
• Hands-on experience with modern data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent platforms
• Experience with ML/AI frameworks and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubeflow, MLflow, or similar technologies
• Strong technical leadership skills including coaching, team building, conflict resolution, and driving vendor relationships
• Advanced communication skills for diverse audiences and organizational/strategic management including budget planning and forecasting
