- • As Director, Commercial Legal at Remote Referral Board Inc., you will serve as the directly responsible individual for Commercial Legal, leading a team of 3-5 lawyers to provide expert legal support for sales, partnership, and vendor contract negotiations while ensuring timely delivery at month-end and quarter-end.
- • You will empower GTM teams to close enterprise deals by upgrading commercial terms, simplifying contracting processes, and proactively training stakeholders in collaboration with Legal and GTM teams, while providing strategic support to Partnership teams on bespoke terms drafting that balances business intent with commercial viability.
- • You will collaborate with Revenue Operations and Legal Operations to automate workflows using AI, maintain the CLM system, and capture commercial contracting metrics to inform GTM and Finance decision-making, all while working within Remote’s global, async-first culture that values innovation, autonomy, and impact.
- • You will mentor and nurture your team, build strategic cross-functional relationships with GTM, Tax, Finance, and Product teams, identify company-wide legal issues, lead training initiatives to improve legal accessibility, and manage external counsel as needed—contributing to Remote’s mission of delivering pragmatic, innovative legal solutions while protecting the company from unacceptable risk in the HR-tech space.
🎯 Requirements
- • Qualified lawyer in your location (mandatory)
- • Technically excellent commercial contracts lawyer with proven experience in difficult negotiations and complex legal points
- • Previous in-house experience in similar commercial legal roles
- • Outstanding team leader who mentors, motivates, and brings people together in a fully remote environment
- • Excellent ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders in a distributed, async-first workplace
- • Excited about using AI to work smarter, faster, and more creatively in legal operations
- • Proficiency in—or demonstrated ability to learn—Remote’s tech stack (Slack, Coupa, Notion, Google Drive)
- • Fluent in written and spoken English
